HI ALL just finish up in my man cave building a radar motor gear box for my tigers fore mast an I spent nearly 5 hrs on this an as the title says well I look back on this as a really stupid mistake as took this unit in an out of the S/S up to 5 times an stripped it all down as when it was out it worked lovely but when I put it back in it wont work with the mast on pic of the unit as this is a rough built unit just to see if I had got the right gears to make the shaft the right speed as this was scrapped later an built properly when it was right the unit below

I had a similar experience the other day Chris. Glued the side armour onto my Abrams, then realised I should have fitted the front return rollers first. Luckily the glue was still a little soft and I managed to bend the sides out without damage, but it was a close call.Si vis pacem, para bellum.Comment

Back in my railway days It was hard to get useful transfers so I used to hand letter all my stock using process white or process black water based paint. It took ages, and things like tank wagons with curved sides were very hard to get straight and even.....
Anyway, once i spent about two hours lettering up a United Dairies wagon. Let it dry, then put on a protective coat of varnish so the water based paint was fixed, and left it overnight to dry before I did the other side....came back to it the next day and found I had a tank wagon perfectly lettered for United Diaries. doh! I don’t think I ever finished it......Comment

My first full-time job was as a sign writer .More than once I spent a great deal of effort fitting all the letters into the available space, only to find I had either missed a letter out or misspelled something , like COMPETITITION.Comment
