Unfortunately I didn't know Simon - but like many on here, it's all about supporting each other and he certainly seemed to be a Gentlemen in that respect - RIP Simon

This is a shock, I only knew Simon from the old MM & this forum, he was always improving older kits & ecouraging the rest of us in our builds. RIP Simon.
          My condolences to his family.

              So sad to read this:disappointed:...
Simon was the inspiration for me to take up the scratch building too, his eye to detail was second to none.

Rest in peace Simon, a true modeller and great man...

                Hi all
I have kept in touch with Simon's sisters, Sal and Jo. I drew their attention to John's Yoda model. They were wondering what to do with Simon's stash and I gave them contact details for Models for Heroes. I thought this email from them would be of interest to you.

There are literally hundreds of unopened models , and that’s before we start on the attic.....I reckon there must be over a thousand in total! Goodness knows how he ever thought he’d make them all.....we’ll contact Models for Heroes before we get rid of any.

The Yoda idea is a lovely one.....Si’s Yoda model is still in his bedroom as we haven’t had the heart to get rid of him.....

We’ve been looking at the forum. Please let everyone know how touched we are by the lovely comments and tributes.

                Jim

Thanks fella. Great idea about passing the kits on to a great cause.
