Wow, I think some of you guys here are having a bad influence on me!!!...But hey, you do live only once. I think the post lady hates me with all the packages she delivers too. Two today and I have been waiting for this,

Now I can finally clear up the Stau for the hissy stick. Came with three extra filters, LED light (kinda weak), turntable and folds up into a suitcase type affair with handle to move it around. The power cable is cool as it's spring loaded and retracts into the back with a push of a button like a vacuum cleaner. Sure beats the hell out of old (dark inside) cardboard box I've been using. This showed up too,

I have a non led version and think they're brilliant for the price.

I get around a lack of light by shining two bright desk lamps in through the plastic lid. It works really well at the plastic diffusers the light and so removes the shadow effect from what are effectively two spotlights. It works very, very well indeed.

Thanks for the good idea Andrew. I'll have to look around to see what I can find for lamps. I think Lidl still has an LED lamp that might work. I hope you and the family are well and you and Junior keep up the great work. I have been absent for a while and every time I want to catch up in the evenings, I end up asleep at the table. You are right too about the price, it can't be beat. Take care Sir...

This is a repop of the 'Matchbox' 1979 model. The Matchbox ships weren't particularly good - being rather soft & short of detail. I have a spares crate with a lot of 1/700 bits ( Tamiya, Hasegawa etc ), that are well detailed. I'm going to use those & plastic card ( to replace the overscale bulwarks ), and see If I can make a presentable model from it ( Tamiya do a 1/700 Indianapolis, but at £24, not attractive ). I paid the massive sum of £8.04 delivered, so no real loss if it all goes Pete Tong!

Crikey, Dave. The size of your navy must now be close to rivalling that of the British Empire circa 1914. :surprised:
