No moulds to wear out or damage either Ian. This technology is only going to improve, getting easier to use and faster to print.

Earlier “rubber” tyres did all of these things Dave. Didn’t stop kit makers using them, or modellers buying them :tongue-out3:

With all those decals in 1/48, I hope they react well to decal solution!

I remember making the Tamiya Sgt. York a long time ago - at least last century, that wasn't a bad model, slots for remote control & electric motors not withstanding. The rubber band tracks were par for the time - I bet Takom have made a better job!

The Tamiya M247 goes for some eye watering prices on that well known auction site, one is over £150

You can see their tracks on the renderings I posted: they appear to assemble like the Rye Field Model HVSS Sherman tracks I reviewed on here last year. When I build one, though, I think I’ll instead use one of the sets of AFV Club separate-link tracks I have in the stash already.

Something I notice now about the M45A5 that I didn’t before: what is that 50-calibre machine gun doing on the commander’s cupola? It seems to be set up on an M113-style pintle mount, which, to the best of my knowledge, would have to be bodged onto the cupola somehow. The real commander’s machine gun mounting is the little vertical round thing on the scissors mechanism to the left (as viewed) of the machine gun, and it should be fitted with an M60D like there is on the loader’s hatch.

The Academy kit was far cheaper, but identical in parts to the Tamiya one … I’ve got one in the stash, but like I said earlier, I kind of doubt I’m going to be building it at all now. It was the rear-hull corrections needed that was keeping me from starting it.

are these the tracks for the full models released as separate boxings, or different tracks?

I can't see many folks building that Fulcrum. Even if you weren't certifiably insane to want to fit all those decals in the first place, you would be by the time you'd finished them!

I'm after a Fulcrum, Frogfoot and Flanker in Ukrainian digital camo. But i am going to go down the paint mask route, not decals. That would be too much for me.

I did have a set for the Flanker on order but the order was cancelled as it was coming from Ukraine. I told the seller to keep the money and i'll get a set later on when things calm down.

Brings back memories of the "spotty paratrooper" I build on here many moons ago.
I would either do a Ron and grab a paint brush, or, more likely, mask and spray.

I rather fancy that Yorkie. Got to love a SPAAG.

I can't see how masking and painting would be any easier, so this one's not for me.
