For a Sherman model I have in mind, I need a very early M4A1 hull, and instead of buying a full kit for that and not using the rest, I decided to take the gamble of ordering just the necessary sprues from the Asuka web shop. As they also had other stuff I feel I could use, I added that too, mainly jerry cans.

That was about two weeks ago. A few days later I received an e-mail that it had been sent, and after that it took nine more days to get to me, which I think is pretty good for a package coming all the way from Japan. And I wasn’t even charged any import duties or VAT!

A pair of big stickers that I've been considering for a while.

Plan is to use them as display bases, but I think I've gone a bit too large.

I could probably go to 20cm instead of these 30cm ones, but these might do twin engined planes.
Excuse my shocking ignorance then, but what is it?... "Bubble canopy", doesn't appear to be a Typhoon or Tempest... Hurricanes didn't have that type of canopy did it?!....

                  Good morning all

So firstly a HUGE thanks to Dave Ward for helping me see the light! A comment on a recent 'latest acquisition' of his made me realise that I am not a plastic addict, addicted to eBay saved searchest!! Instead, like him, I just like an eBay bargain. Simples!! :tongue-out3:

So this is this was only released last year and judging by the review dates not until November at that. This though was second hand and was bought as "some" parts removed from sprues. A more accurate description would have been MOST.....far too many to make sure they're all present, so here's hoping! That said they were all nicely contained in the sprue bag and not rattling around loose in the box

The box definitely suffered in the post due to iffy packaging (no external protective box and just one thin piece of bubble wrap around it). That said, the inside was well packed out with bubble wrap and I couldn't see any broken pieces, even with the really fine pieces. A quick test fit of the fuselage and wings shows there will be some filling needed, especially around the cowling but having seen one review that is a kit issue, not the sellers.

Prices new start at ÂŁ29 delivered but most are low ÂŁ30s and up. That said, a couple have/are going on eBay for around ÂŁ25. Mine.....well that was only ÂŁ20.11 delivered; basically 30% off new! As I said a bargain - assuming all of the pieces are there of course!!!

                  ATB.

                  Andrew

Just arrived. No where near as cute as Doug's puppy though.
                              A nice big, strong box.

Just put on the dining room table to check it. Works very well, not too noisy either.

There's a hood to go on the front. I'll set it up in the work room later as I'll have to move things around slightly.

B&Q great big blue plastic dust cover, use grey side if you get sea sick, cut up and cover all surfaces to walk on, mop and bucket for all the close misses, chain mail gloves for when the little darling needs to practice testing teeth, remember not to yell out loud when this happens, already had the police round 5 times thinking someone was being murdered. But watch all the women fall over themselves when you march into Pets at Home, they are not interested in you but the little bundle of fun you have with you...
Better not show SWMBO, have enough with our pup drooling in my ears...
                                Mike.
