Front seat please .Can't remember you ever doing any thing but sculptures.
Tanks always been my first love my friend.Fell out of love for trying to sculpt for some considerable time now.Ive discovered a great 2 Volume set called "Legacies" by Spencer Pollard. He pays homage to Francois Verlinden in it by imitating his dioramas.Ive bought an old Tamiya T34 76 for such purposes and some other golden oldies.I still love the old Tamiya classics. My mantra is for my standards is dont buy expensive kits when i cant finish them to do a decent standard.Im very partial to Kv1s also.
    Happy modelling chum.

I need figures to populate the Gecko LCA (Landing Craft, Assault) I bought a few months ago, and browsing photos I had a good idea for how to do that without having to build 36 or so British soldiers When ordering those, I also bought figures for something else I have in the stash, as well as some books that interested me:

However, when leafing through the Leopard 1 book, I thought it looked familiar …

On the left the book I just bought, on the right one I got 15 years ago. Turns out the English version is a translation of the Dutch one, but it has different layout (obviously, it’s A4 instead of just about square) and each seems to have some photos that aren’t in the other — the English one has a few pages with detail photos of Dutch Leopard 1s that aren’t in the original, for example. I’m wondering what to do: keep both? Sell the English version on? Not sure yet …

A nostalgia trip with this one.I first got this in 1983 aged 14 from a great model shop in Bishops stortford called Garnells.I loved Tamiya kits and tanks from the day i got this Tamiya Special.I had it years until it fell apart. On the front it has 50p from Beatties.I think i paid £ 1.50 in 83.An e.bay win at just over a fiver with postage.Good memories.

                      it’s 410mm long with a beam of 90mm+.
Just deciding whether to order wooden deck and replacement barrels from same supplier.

Ok.... so a return to the one true scale, after my recent dalliances with larger scale aircraft.

One their earlier kits.... Don't come up that often but are currently on sale for £20+ incl p&p. Another auction one went for £15.77 at the same time I saw this, which is the cheapest I could find.

I picked it up for £16, which is about what they went for new, if you add p&p, so if not 'cheap' but not stupidly priced either.

Maybe I'll do two kits for the Soviet Wingy GB!!
