Thank you both, and those that have PM'd me saying similar.

I blow hot & cold, I can't help it. Some would even use the term drama queen, but things that your average chap would just brush off, drive me up the wall!

I will try and stay well away from anything controversial :smiling4:

That Napoleonic pair look superb. (I mean the figures not the young lady's assets - I don't know though :rolling: )
Neil - those 3D prints look brilliant and very kind to help out fellow modellers.

Nice Lee. I saw quite a few Jackals at Bovington after some of them returned for repair!! (Read rebuild after IED damage). What amazed me was that the front ends were totalled yet the tyres were still inflated even if they weren't completely attached to the vehicles.
My mate, Dorset Yeomanry loves the Warrior, Sports car on tracks he reckons. He used to drive the Warrior at Tank Fest days!!

You'll have fun with that lot. Now I'm off to be envious elsewhere!!

I'm envious that you worked at Bovy and your mate for being a driver!
I'm intrigued to know the reasoning behind why there is no lid on the Jackal or the Coyote... no over head protection? Doesn't make sense to me?!
Waspie Doug, let's see how I get on with this scale, if it goes well, I may well be on my way to a new scale and more space!

Two figures for my Landing Craft, Assault. Note the order date, which is the reason I photographed them on the receipt. I had contacted Friendship Models about this around a month after ordering, when I still hadn’t received them, and was advised to wait because Royal Mail apparently can be very slow. When I still had seen hide nor hair of the parcel by mid-July, I contacted them again, and was asked if I wanted a refund or for them to send the figures again. I “need” the figures (there being very few makers or Royal Navy figures in 1:35) so I chose the latter. According to the customs declaration sticker on the parcel, it was sent on 18 July. It is now 26 August, and I finally received an order I placed four months and three weeks ago …

Checking PostNL’s web site for tracking information, I saw it arrived in the Netherlands on 8 August, meaning it took three weeks to cross the North Sea — you could swim across with the parcel on your back in that time. More than once! From there it was a week before PostNL charged me for import duties etc., and then another week and a half before they apparently even got it into their hands themselves. The moral of the story seems to be: don‘t order abroad from companies who aren’t subscribed to the scheme where they collect VAT, import duties, etc.

And to top it all off, BT doesn’t like me either … Just before posting this, I sent an e-mail to Friendship Models to say it had finally arrived, and what I get back is an automated reply from BT (not Friendship Models) that:
                  Code:
I'm sorry to have to inform you that your message could not
be delivered to one or more recipients. It's attached below.

That’s to say, a refusal by BT Internet’s mail server to process my message “for policy reasons” — whatever those may be. All it contained was a short update that I had actually received my order now, a thanks, and a comment that “I can’t say this experience has made me look favourably on the various delivery companies and government agencies involved”.

Also, as a result of a recent thread, steel blocks. Brilliant service from HERE. I bought a 200mm length which they cut, FREE, into 2x40mm and 2x60mm.

I’ve always wanted to do a Vietnam War Huey.

The RAF Rescue launch is a trip down memory lane from the time I used to build with my dad.

Like the look of the Huey and the RAF rescue boat. They still had a rescue launch at Falmouth when I was at Culdrose in the early 70's. Don't know when they were phased out given that Helicopters seemed to take over sea rescue mid to late 60's.

                                Afternoon all

So two weeks annual leave has just come to an end and even though we were away for the first week, it didn't stopping me keeping an eye on eBay. Plus a very long term order finally landed....and then some necessary purchases!

All of this has arrived in the last 7 days.....and isn't the credit card feeling it....

                                ATB

                                Andrew

                                ------------------------------------------------

So these arrived last Monday, when I was at model club....
I got a message from my wife, as she thought these were kits....I'll leave the rest to your imagination!

This then arrived a couple of days later.....

                                They contained these......
Basically I'm trying to better organise my work area and make it look less of an eyesore

In the interests of saving the environment I have kept the cardboard boxes the boxes came in.

It turned out that the smaller ones are the perfect size for transporting completed kits to shows and the larger box was clearly designed to store Eduard 1/48 wingy kits!

In terms of 1/48 wingy kits, it suddenly dawned on me that I didn't have a Hurricane.
That is until this arrived. Until Arma released their new 1/48 Wingy kit, I understand the Airfix kits were the best around. Managed to get this after a cheeky bid at about 25% less than brand new.

                                Next up this.....
I've also been looking for a Corsair and have picked on the Tamiya one as a likely candidate, as it's not too expensive. In the UK you're looking at £19-20 delivered, with the below kit going for £27-30. For some reason an online model shop dropped the below kit's price down to the same as the standalone Corsair - £20....so thought it would have been rude not to.

This though was probably the pick of the kits....
This normally goes for £27-£30 delivered in the UK. However, Geoffors pointed out the week before last, Amazon were knocking these out cheap. VERY cheap. This only cost £11......and fortunately it survived the very flimsy packaging you can see.

One can never have too many Spitfires!
I managed to win this on eBay for only £33 vs £50+ new......so each Profipack plane cost on only £16.50. Plus a resin figure of Douglas Bader (which I can take or leave)

This though was the order of the week.

A MASSIVE thank you to our host John for simply outstanding service.....and in this case not due to the speed, as is usually the case

In view of my upcoming March annual bonus, I approached him back in February asking if he would price match another site on some paints and allow me to back order some out of stock items, as I was in no rush.

The original order was the 110, the Metal Color Paints and the Uschi Metal polishing powders. He kindly said "yes" and even beat what in hindsight was a slightly cheeky offer on my part!!

He kept me regularly updated throughout, as and when items arrived in stock, and even let me top up the order three times with more more paints, supplies and my first every biplane.....what attracted me to this was the fact it has no rigging!!

So, John, thank you yet again for your support and patience!! It really was way past what I was expecting when I first messaged you!!
