A back up if my primary choice for the forth coming GB ends in disaster :flushed:

Geoff.
Is that a Phantom build in the background I see? I built that scheme Phantom a while back - very nice.

Short run model from 1997 - at a good price!

I can’t wait to tuck into some of my 72s. I’m starting to get that nostalgia again. Love these old kits from yesteryear - really test you but in a good way

Paul,
I lost my interest in 1/72, but lately it's beginning to pick up again! That early Stuka in splinter camo really attracted me............

Morning chaps

So I have recently been looking for a 1/72 P-51 to finish off my collection of 1/72 wingy things , and indeed to finish my stash full stop, as I realised I did not have a 1/72 US WWII fighter but I have been struggling to find any at what I consider a reasonable price when P&P is added.

Something then made me look at the website of Hobbycraft***......to discover they were doing a special offer of 25% off a lot of purchases made via their app...they also give you a £5 voucher for your birthday, which as you know I have just had.....

Unfortunately though they have a £10 minimum 'click and collect', so I had to buy a second kit... ....

In short......rather than these two costing £24 as per their website.....I paid only £13......£6.50 each.

And as for speed of service....simply outstanding.....I pressed the 'Buy' button at 23 minutes past midnight 'today' and they emailed at 8:32 this morning to say that they were ready for collection!

ACW as usual

Andrew

*** for non-UK members, they are a national UK chain of general arts/crafts/hobby stores that does a reasonable range of kits.

Another step closer to getting the series complete:

This is an original edition from 1988, but it looks as new — it came from the collection of a modeller who passed away earlier this year, and one of this friends is now sorting through and selling off his books.

Son-in-law also 3d printed me some additional fittings for my Proxxon pen sander. I'll be able to alter the shape of the 'foot' to suit the job in hand. Reckoned it took him about 20 minutes to reverse engineer the original (black) part into the software.

It is little more than a length of rod with a square stuck to one end and a beam on the other … Anyone who knows their way around CAD or 3D-modelling software should be able to knock that up in about thirty seconds flat, I would think

And the clue is here....

I already have a homebuilt spray booth in the cave, but do not fancy sitting around waiting for the frozen paint to break of the tip of the airbrush - so came across this idea, and if it does not work at least I have another spray booth and a bucket to p in....
And in a week I will let you know how it all worked out....

ADDITION... 26/12/2023...
So put it all together and it works - did do an addition for you but it seems to have vanished along with the pics of the assembled and working booth.

Mike, I've got one of those booths and am very pleased with it. Fortunately, I'm sat next to a window so can vent straight outside.... Even in winter....

The last purchase for the year ( perhaps ) and probably for the Biplane GB. I'd chickened out of attempting this, or the Felixstowe variants for several years due to the rigging.......................

but found it at a very good price at a retail shop not far away from the SMS - cheaper than ebay prices, as well. So I thought I'd give it a go! Looking at the parts - What have I done!!!:dizzy:

Interesting thing was the drills were only £ 2.24 . While on Amazon they were £ 5.89. So well worth a visit to Temu, post free. Those orange things are pointed paint holders, for any thing that has been painted and needs to stay off the ground. Silicone glue stick and a pkt of silicon shaper tools. Mixed set of micro drill bits.
