    Reason for not posting recently.

    Hi all .
I own my late parents bungalow and having done it up some years ago have rented out with an agent , gave a decent addition to my self employed pension.
Unfortunately the tenant was raided following an arrest in Peterborough by the police. In turn the Northamptonshire Police damaged the rear door and removed a cannabis farm ! Yes sounds unbelievable.
Now of course we have to along with the agents , a national firm by the way , have to arrange to repair the damage. Luckily I have some good friends I worked with like an electrician who dropped what he was doing and went to day to check the wiring. They had by -passed the meter ! So with out a test of the circuits the electricity supplier won't reconnect .Hopefully by Monday OVO will give a date to reconnect.
Done some damage in the loft by cutting out the A frames and replacing with badly fitted timbers . Luckily again the brother of my son in law is a joiner and is going up on Wednesday to check and make good asap. I just don't want to go up and see the mess so our neighbour who is a decorator has been extremely good, organised a cleaner over this weekend and acts as a general overseer before he and his businesses partner give the property a full repaint, including new ceilings . There were vine screw in the ceiling to hold wires to dry the crop !
After all this you will understand why I've not been posting. Both Mike and Dude 1 are aware of this .
Don't feel like doing much at the moment, this last week has been a nightmare of phone calls , emails . Tomorrow I'm hoping to do some work on those figures.

    John .

Wow JR, I can only sympathise with you, and that is the exact reason that we decided years ago not to enter the rental market.
I have to wonder what the agent was doing on their inspections, how could they not see or smell the wacky baccy farm.
All the best mate, and I hope your next tenant is of a better ilk.
Strength isn't about what you can do, rather it's about overcoming what you thought you couldn't do.

What a mess JR but it does sound like there will be a reasonably speedy reversal of their damage.

Sorry to hear that john , but it can only get better from now on . The scumbags are no longer in there ( hopefully in custody ) and it sounds like you’ve got some fantastic mates to get things back to normal . The letting agent should be a bit more vigilant now . Cheers tony

Thanks Chris , very hard not too as the bills for the work will probably out weigh the amount the insurance people will pay .

That's unbelievable. You read about this sort of thing but to have it happen to a friend is horrendous. I hope things get sorted as soon as possible. Must be incredibly stressful.

Sorry to hear this mate - I hope the scrotes get a decent sentence, but then again knowing our wet, weak judicial system I somehow doubt that :anguished:
