Someone had to say it Laurie!
I didn't realise until after reading your reply, that the "rocking out on the kitchen worktop" bit could make my post sound so much worse than was intended. Haha.Comment

Johnpipe's workbench, now moved to living room:
I've only recently got "back in the groove" as my normal health is returning (my body is more happy to only have the major illness to work on, not two man-made and un-necessary medical disasters!). My bench only gets clean when getting ready for the next major project; otherwise, it ususally looks a lot like this!
Of course, this does not show the left-hand side of the room, where the Workmate 425 sits with the 2in belt sander (fortunately the 425 folds up and goes into the closet in the spare room (aka "workroom"), the sander will fit behind the Jet Mini lathe in the kitchen, and I must move everything around in a little while for plumbing repairs involving the room heaters)!

Glad to here health is on the upward trend John.
Should watch out for that seat before sitting on it as your health is going to take a further upward trend. Nasty.
Your work station is not bad for tidyness. About midway between mine & Ole's. But then Ole is the Master Craftsmen in keeping things messy.
Think yours deserves a gold Ole.

Don't worry about it Martin. Everyone works how they can. I've gone from literally a tray on my knees to a computer table in the front room to my current work station. I consider myself VERY lucky to have been able to build it. It's taken me more than 20 years!
When all's said and done the main thing is to have fun doing what we do,however we go about it.
Mine's relatively tidy because I'm in the painting phase, hence the piccies
When I'm done with a project SWMBO will expect everything to be tidied away and as I'm hoping to live a bit longer it will be!
Cheers
