When I was a kid I built the Red Arrows model like I guess so many on here so I picked one up. and when I was at Duxford at the beginning of the year I'm sure I saw the front end of this car under a tarp with a sign saying Monty's car been refurbed, so again I picked one up for something different to do
Been looking for the Revell kit of this for a while:
Wouldn't you just know it. Just like buses, two of them turned up at the same time! Bid on one, was outbid so used a 'buy it now' option. Now the winning bidder in the auction has withdrawn so I can have that one too!
Gern
PS It's the Revell 1/200 Bucket Wheel Excavator (Schaufelradbagger in German - which tells me schaufel = shovel/bucket; rad = wheel and bagger = digger/excavator. Amazing what you can learn doing this modelling innit! )
Not in the near future Tony, but the idea sounds good. Anyone know where I can get 1/200 dumper trucks?
I am looking into making dios, but as I don't have Ron's resources - I don't do takeaway pizza - I gotta find another way of making buildings so I'm just focusing on groundwork for the moment.
Just for curiosity I did a search for ones of these and found it for £87 on eBay on top of which, because of the search website I used, got £3 off my utility bill..... Sop I went ahead and ordered it. There was £20 postage from China but seeing a pre-order from E-Models was £107 it was still good value.... Then a card came through my door this am wanting £11 handling an import tax.... So not much of a saving in the end at all - even didnt get delivered until a day after e-Models got their stock......
It certainly is a nice kit to add to the stash though....
My Revell 1:48 Spitfire is nearing completion and is the first model that I'm proud of. It's nowhere near the standards that you gentlemen adhere to but it's evidence, to me, that my skills are improving. So much so that I have decided to make a diorama. I purchased a 1:48 RAF airfield dispersal set from Flightpath. The quality (with the excption of the bent corner (shown)) seems excellent. It's a bit scary becasue I've never worked with this medium before. I have no idea how to cut, fold, glue,

prime and paint but it will be learning curve. The kit contains the materials to make a work platform, a tower ladder, two folding ladders, a wind sock, drain covers, chocks and ministry warning signs. (less than £15).
