When I was at college, a couple of years ago, the guy I was in digs with bought the Airfix 1/24th Mustang. I remember like it was yesterday, it was an absolute pig to get the two fuselage halves together and that was with both of us at it and clamps and tape everywhere!

I would pre-plan your approach many times over then be prepared for a frustrating time anyway!

Got these today from a friend of a friend. He's sold everything else on ebay and was left with these two. Only cost me £12 total

Happy(er) bunny this morning. Postie handed over a battered box all the way from France containing a mint condition shrink wrapped Tamiya LRDG 30cwt Chevrolet. I also now have the Eduard PE set for it to. In the stash is a Tamiya SAS Jeep with PE set and replacement 50cal with metal barrel. I can see some fun coming especially as I have an article of how to convert the Tamiya Quad into a Ford LRDG truck too. Mmmmmmmmmmmm.....

Big thanks to Andy (Lancasterb1) for the heads up on the French kit, cheers bud.

See now that sounds interesting, care to share?

Well done on finding the Chevy.

I can see a mass desert recon dio comming up before long.

care to share?/QUOTE]No, its mineeeeee lol.

Not a lot to share really just describing how it can be done. There is an extension to the chassis and the back has to be cut off and a box back made. The bonnet is open (does anyone know if the Quad kit has an engine?) as the LRDG left it off, presumably for cooling. It also goes on about the mounted gun in the rear but then it gets silly and says that the Quad kit has Ford (or Morris?) axels and the LRDG fitted Chevrolet axels so it suggests butchering a chevy kit just for the axels... in ya dreams mate!!!!!

Looks quite a weird truck, may have a go but as the engine is well on view, the kit would have to have one or some obtainable alternative to it.
