Well i had another cheeky bid on a 1/32 Hasegawa FW190 D9 from the same seller that i got the 1/32 Hasegawa FW190 A8 from. And guess what... i won it with the exact same price... £18. Well chuffed
Aww come on Tony, if the other Tony (Yakface) sees these he will be in ecstasy lol. Never heard of the Harbin myself, looks an interesting aircraft, a bit like a Canberra, still has that classic Soviet tail gun design. Look forward to seeing these on the bench.
Grahams right, nice brace of russkis there (ok , albeit ones an unlicenced copy !!) cheers tony
I all, im still buying even if ive not done any modelling for AGES . Just got a 1/72 pitts s2 special in the rothmans livery on e-bay .Anyone remember the displays at finningley every year. Should be a nice little kit (little ? its only got about a 20 ft wingspan !!so in 1/72 it will be about 3" !!!) cheers tony
Well, here is my new kits for your perusal and maybe they will seem a bit out of kilter for me, they are not 1:48 scale for a start.
I wanted to bank some kits that I could do as a total change. The first is one of my favourite (nearly) modern, the ubiquitous BMP2. When I was wargaming micro armour, I used to pick these off by the dozen with my M1 tank platoons, however, they devastated my infantry and I grew a healthy respect for them. Always liked the futuristic styling of it
Next up is another classic vehicle brought up to date with a TOW launcher for the first Gulf War, the M901A1
Next up, I have wanted one of these since I saw Paul's (Ferrets Bueller) superb captured Dingo in German colours and markings. Even though he said there were problems with the kit, I still wanted one
OK, now it starts to get weird. I do not consider myself a decent figure painter so, I need to learn. This is an odd kit as it is a strange 1:10 scale and, the figure is an airborne trooper stepping down in the desert in the first Gulf War. Oddly, it comes with two heads and helmets as well as two sets of gear and weapons. This enables you to do the figure as a WWII airborne trooper to. You get the harness much as you see in the picture, it stops there. The figure can either be suspended by a strange gallows style stand or just as in the picture, touching down on a nice circular desert stand supplied with it, that is the way I will do it I think unless I suspend the top of the harness from the inside top of the display cabinet.
This last one I have just received as my subscription gift for subscribing to Military Modelling. Again it will be put to good use to learn the basics of figure painting. I expect both of these to be using up a fair bit of my Model Strip paint stripper lol. This one is 1:16 scale and I have never, ever attempted anything like these before so it will be an experience.
I bet it is a lot for the money Scott, it is huge and very nicely detailed to.
I have had to make that most horrible of modellers decisions..... I have to stop buying kits, really stop. I now have no where to hide them, sorry, store them. I must discipline myself and get building. Still in need of consumables and stuff but I really cannot get any more kits until I have built nearly half of my stash. Obviously, there will be the odd one that just has to be bought but only for building not for storing.
Fortunatly the wife was asleep when I came home...
The Hunter and the Hawk are going to be in the 74Sq collection. The Mossies are going to be my first real diversion into resin conversions. One will become a Sea Mosquito, the other a highball!
Spent next to nothing lately so had a lttle gamble on ebay had a result and got these delivered in the last couple of days , with a Iraqi dio in the planning thought these might be a good addition although with other armour and other stuff I`ve got the Abrams might not get used but nice to have in the stash , with the models the Humvee has lovely crisp detail with many options and looks a superb build , the Abrams looks ok but very bland tbh and will take a good paint job to bring it to life
