Ordered yesterday, despatched yesterday, arrived today a brilliant service from Welsh Dragons. These are some extras i got for the Tiger Tank. It will be fun painting the figures im sure, and i thought the Tank would be hard enough let alone this lot. Well i will give it my best shot.

Modelzone has opened a new store in Peterborough today, bit of a gamble because all models shops have come and gone in the ten years I have been here with a life of less than two years.

We now have Hobbycraft and Modelzone, although Hobbycraft is out of town, Modelzone is bang in the City centre. The only independent that I know of that has a good range of plastic is a model railway specialist.

I hope that Modelzone survive, they stand a fair chance as they are 80% toys, diecasts and RC. Not a bad range of kits in but nothing spectacular. However I did see a couple of things that with a bit of bottom lip quivering and a threat of stamping of feet, I got as a pressie :-)

This is a fairly simple offering but at £11.99, it will make a nice road bike. Trouble is, I cannot hide poor technique behind the fairing............

I have enough to keep me going all next year lol. Makes me wonder sometimes why we keep building the stash more than we build models.

Not seen the contents but was looking at the box yesterday. You get two tanks and a trench, presumably, vac form rectangular dio base. Didn't take note of the the figures you get though. I suppose it is made up much the same way as the Dambuster vac form dio. Should be quite good, don't know if the box is an indication of the base size but it is quite big.

I've seen it too. There's a pic of the finished product on the airfix website:

WWI - The Western Front Gift Set 1:76 (A50060) Model Kit and Accessories by Airfix

My only gripe with it is that the trenches are exactly the same, just at a different angle. I'm still considering getting one. I've got a minor obsession with these gift-set things, especially the ones that come with diorama bases. I'm still waiting to build my discontinued Italeri Battle of the Bulge set that's being proudly displayed in its half-torn-to-pieces box

I just seem to have a thing for WWI at the moment and this kit looks cool, i have the dambusters one on display at my station and the kids seem to love it so maybe time for a dio change at work.

Only thing to watch on this superb kit is that you get the engine mounts right. It is so easy for the engine to end up too far forward and you ill have problems fitting the front circular cowl. Nothing wrong with the kit, just needs care that's all.
