Payday! So off to one of the LMS for some top ups coffee and a chat. So after a good rummaging of the shelves I came away with these. I really must get back to actually sticking some of them together at some point.o_O

      Nice one!
I don't know why I hesitated and waited so long to buy it? Ok, some of it was still dreaming that I should buy the Trumpeter 1/35 scale Dora - but that's not really realistic with regards to size so it had to be this 1/72 scale version - which's still 120 cm long!!!
There's plenty of detail from what I've seen and it should make the centre piece of a really nice diorama.

      When are you building yours?

Only for a short while Barry - the temptation will get you in the end; so don't go spending what you think you saved!

I have to say my time around the show wasn't a really pleasant one. After queuing over an hour to get in it was hard to get to things off interest due to the high volume of people trying to do the same.Bit of a free for all really and probably my own fault as I normally go on a Sunday which is a more pleasurable experience. So if I do go next year I'll makesure I'm a IPMS member or at the very least pre booked my tickets. If I'm honest I enjoyed Cosford much better.
Anyways after fighting my way around I left with these.
          Cheers John

So you found that jeep you mentioned recently and got an M1070 then! How much did that set you back if you don't mind me asking.

It was Soar Art that made the 1/35 Dora. Even though I've seen it advertised as a Trumpeter kit, I don't think they released one.

One day maybe if I live long enough, I'll build the Hobby Boss version to go with the 1/35 one I have which takes up a whole shelf!

You are right with Soar Art Workshop. I do wonder why it's referred as a Trumpeter kit so often? Perhaps they've manufactured the sprues for Soar Art Workshop? Who knows.
I must be an enormous kit for sure!!!

Hi Dave Jeep £120 M1070 £90.Snatched the jeep as soon as I saw it as the cheapest I'd seen was £140 and upwards. The M107o I'd waited a year to get as I was hopping to get one for around £70. My impatience got the better of me in the end. I nearly brought the one you got earlier this year as that was about £90 if I remember correctly. Trouble is I visited my LMS yesterday and he'd just received some 1/16 Tamiya kubelwagens.
                  A furture purchase I feel.
                  Cheers John

To be fair Tony I don't need a lot of persuasion. A quick cup of coffee a chat and an healthy discount and I'm anybody's. I do get a 10% discount on everything. I always do a little reasearch on the pricing of the kits I'm interested in before I go. As I'd hate to pay over the odds. As we're relocating to the Lake District next year were there's not a model shop within miles I'm ferreting away as much as possible. At the moment I have four LMS within striking distance so for now but not much longer I'm spoilt for choice.
I've wanted the Trojan for an age and was pleased to finally get my paws on it. But I have to say the ICM spitfire for £11 is a great kit nicely detailed and comes with figures and field accessories which I'd strongly recommend. I'm so looking forward to the Black Friday Sales. Cheers John

Yeah! The track supplied is about 80" (2030mm) long and the gun itself about 72" (1830mm).

It's only about 12" (300mm) wide and 21" (530mm) high so it fits on quite a narrow shelf though, so in a way it's easier than displaying large aircraft which may be 20" x20" (500x500mm) which need much wider shelves.

Bargains galore! If I'd seen that jeep, I'd have snatched the guy's hand off at that price!
