Picture 1 shows why I haven't had much chance to do any modelling recently. That was about a minute after I brought the boxes in from the car and stacked them neatly in the corner ......
Reasonable prices for all, but I thought the taxi for £10 and the 1/24 190 for £35 were pretty good.

Too cute.

Ain't that the truth. We put our tree up at the weekend. I left the tree box leaning up against the wall, within seconds one of the cats was in the bottom and clawed her way up to the top and got stuck!
In preparation for the Schwerer Gustav diorama I've ticked a few more items off the list.

TheHobby Boss Dora kit came with a dual straight track but in reality they always used curved tracks because that was the only way they could aim the gun and I want to reflect that fact in my diorama.
They only used diesel-electric trains to move the Schwerer Gustav and Dora because of the smoke of the coal fired trains let out - which would've given them away long before they could fire the first shot
I was also going to include an armoured train with a flakwagen in the diorama but I think it's going to be enough with the main railway gun and the supporting armour and the bucketload of figures...
It's enough for now anyway. Also these little 1/72 trains and carts are much more expensive than I thought and that's also a factor.
Anyhow, my fingers are itching to start but I've so far resisted. I need to setup a new building area anyway, and design the layout of the diorama. I've also got a lot of Christmas things to do so this'll have to wait a bit longer.
