I just bought this on ebay. It has a cockpit etched brass fret too. I could really go to town on this with all the aftermarket bits that are around. Has anyone built one of these? Any idea if it comes with the EAPS/SNIPS intake filter or the FOD deflector as shown on the box photo?
Nice One. I have been after one for a while, but way to silly in the price ticket range!
typical lol the shop i got them still had few and know some other branches did to , im hoping to do some in differnt sqdns to period and type and in time see ref others just felt was to god other to miss, and had enougth on me for ten thu was tempted go back lol
Well Dave, Tamiya do make a good kit that builds up well and fit together!!! I'm a bit like you in that respect. With a small pile of "classic" Airfix in the stash and a good few built, I enjoy the challenge. Bonus is that some of the older Airfix stuff is still classed as the best there is, or was. The Lightning, Buccaneer and Jaguar spring to mind. The Jag does need a bit of work though and I am looking forward to the new offering from Kitty Hawk, and the New Italeri one. (which is odd, its been confirmed, by Italeri, and slipped off the radar again).
A bit off the topic of latest Acquisitions, but worth a mention as seeing what people have been buying. Some of the long forgotten kits are coming out from some of the new names in the kit world. Meng have just announced a new Me 410 which is getting a good review.
yet some more goodies today decided need to update book case as lost my books few years ago so got few from evilbay and more on way lol, thu for once didnt buy kits as got over 200 well till cosford lol
Ian, I can report that this kit doesn't come with the EAPS/SNIPS engine intake filters sadly. On the plus side it does come with torpedoes! In the three years I spent on D flt I don't ever recall HAR3's fitted with anything more potent than a Very gun. I'm gonna have to find an aftermarket supplier for the filter...anybody got any ideas?
On the bench: Airfix 1/48 Sea King HC4, Revell 1/24 Trabant.
Coming soon: Airfix 1/72 Phantom FGR2.
Just finished: Airfix 1/48 Stuka & Airfix 1/72 Sea King HC4.

His PE is the dogs dangly bits, as is the white metal bits. So much to chose from I don't know where to start!!
I had a look at this site and one kit in particular looked like it had what I am looking for so I asked for confirmation - he said he didn't have an etch for this. Strange!
