A tip: Before applying the decals, make sure you have a good coat of gloss varnish to put them on. I didn't do that well enough with one of my planes and got silvering, due to minute air pockets on the surface of anything other than a very smooth one. You can re-varnish after adding decals, using a mat or semi-mat varnish.

Another tip. Aircraft fuselages come in two halves, and also wings (fancy that!) both of whose joins need to be invisible, that is, without a visible seam which looks bad. (Aircraft are very smoothly aerodynamic.) So, make sure that you use filler where necessary, and for the fuselage seams, fill with paste filler if necessary but always finish with (probably several) applications of a semi liquid filler such as Mr. Surfacer 500.

And another: Dry fit parts before gluing, to make sure that they fit before committing with glue.

I have learned this over the last 14 months.

Thanks Steve! Trust me, I'll be doing this slowly & surely armour I'm used to, but with aircraft you can't hide mistakes with lumps of mud!

I've built the tamiya MKII mozzy and if yours is as good as that one it's a fine kit , I did have a few probs with mine but it's nothing I couldn't handle and folks on here said it must have been a one off so enjoy

It looks incredible in the box, I'd say it's probably one of the best looking kits I've seen in 1/72 the level of detail is enough for me without any PE or resin. If Airfix had thought of bringing out a new tool then I might have considered one but at the price I paid for both it was a no brainer. The Corsair is so far beyond the Fujimi, Heller and Hasegawa kits I have as well. (anybody want a Fujimi Corsair, it really is a dog)
