That's a nice AB, but it is remarkably similar to the vastly cheaper Fenghua airbrush.

I wonder how much differently they'd perform in a side by side test?

The chinese airbrushes, as you probably know, directly copy the iwata designs. I used them once at a model show, as a mate of mine had a chineses copy, and it could not do fine lines. The needle was off centre in the nozzle and the mac valve was a bad joke. Once you tried decreasing the psi down to about 10 psi, it sputtered and spattered.

I have the mentality that paying for something in a high price pays for performance

Trust me, once you get a solid branded AB, (Iwata Hi Line HP CH, hint hint) your modelling will lift (even without it, you models are fantastic), but a branded airbrush is really worth it, and pays dividends.

Next two projects have just arrived. The Samba bus is a very personal project and may be pushing my skill set a tad too far. In the early 1960s my dad used to borrow a VW Devon Caravette from my uncle and we 'toured' the North Norfolk Coast for a weeks holiday for three years. We actually stayed at a pub in Dersingham now a private residence, but I slept in the Caravette parked behind the pub. We were not seaside and funfair people and my dad never had a plan. Each morning it was my job to fill the water container and we would all pile in and set off for the day ending up wherever the roads took us. No sat nav in those days so getting back to the pub was 'interesting' some days.

Anyway, the crux of this is that I want to re create that camper van that not only cemented my love of the vehicle but also the beautiful county of Norfolk. It has to be extensively modified so this is a long term project........ I did have a go at this a few years back but it ended up in the bin. This one will work....

The other is my last truck purchase for a while and it's a monster, total length 53cm..... no idea where I am going to put it.

having said that, I have a Citreon van coming from France and my better half's dad has asked me to do a Porche for him so I have one of those on the way.

The bug has bitten on the cars since i started on my Skyline and my buddy on OneTwentyFour had a movie/TV car build off. So, I decided to do something in my own time, the mobile FLAG unit and KITT from Knight Rider and the 1989 Batmobile. I'll get the Peterbilt horse on a later date.
