When does this start? I've started building mine and I have been quite surprised how much I enjoyed the small scale, so I got a load of 1/72 kits in for stock because I can see myself doing quite a lot of them, I know I bought them to sell but they might go off if they are not used lol

Ha ha! Good timing, I just bought a 1:72 Revell Hurricane as a diversion to the 1:72 Lancaster I started this time last year.....I find that at 41 and a lifetime of commercial illustration that I use a jeweller's loop to see anything in that scale!!

can I refer you to the first post in this thread John lol

OK, this isn't a Group Build but I hope that some of you will take part.Sometime in November, just for a bit of fun and remembering that this year is the 70th anniversary of the Battle of Britain, I want as many of you as possible to go out and buy a 1:72 Spitfire, Hurricane or ME109 of the period (if you are not sure if a kit represents a BoB aircraft, shout up and someone will let you know. If anyone can suggest appropriate kits then please do.

Rules: It must be 1:72, it must be one of the three types listed above, your build goes in here, everyones together (what a mess that will be). That is it.

          HAVE FUN!
So you have jumped the gun a bit but then again, you are the boss, who am I to say anything .........

I thought the start date for this was November?

I've just gotten mine last week, (a back to basics Airfix spit in bag, like the good old stuff we got with pocket money when we were kids)

            Can we start now?

and wheres the pics of yours John?

Ahhhh, now I know where to get my 1/72 Hurricane from, nice one John

No real rules on this apart from scale and one of the three aircraft, Spitfire, Hurricane, ME109 of the BoB period. It isn't a GB as such just a bit of fun so if it is one of the aircraft types above, do as ya wish so long as you have fun and get pleasure out of doing it.

If it is popular we may do a few more 1:72 fun builds every now and again, even if only to stop John's stock 'going off'.........

So, I was wondering what the P&P costs are.

A lot of places take advantage of the fact that Royal Mail think that Inverness is not part of the British mainland (believe me, the charges for delivery to anywhere north of Perth can be absolutely stupid - I'm sure there's more than one person that will agree with me on this).

Anyway, I'm getting more into this idea and am seriously considering it.

If you could let me know what the P&P charges would be to an IV2 postcode you may have another customer.

                Cheers

Think I will try another one, I wasn't happy with the camo and I didn't want to prime it again, and I was a bit lazy with the varnish and brushed it on and you can tell.

Just finished up my nondescript F15 eagle so i'll be cracking open the retro spit shortly.

Homechild, i can vouch for johns reasonable P&P, I've had several things from the shop and prices are reasonable to the point of covering the costs and his turnaround is excellent, i'm IV40 and I know exactly what you mean, it's always worth arguing the point and emphasising that if a shipper uses royal mail we are classified as UK mainland and therefore no more costly than anywhere else in the UK, if you think that's bad you ought to see the grief some of the people on Skye get that i know.

No rush on it, it does say "sometime in November" I don't even have my kit yet due to my supplier running out lol. Maybe a trip to Hobbycraft needed. Wish I hadn't limited it to 1:72 as I have a 1:48 old Airfix Hurricane MkI under the bench.....
