    Modified Jeep

Hi All, I came across a picture on line a while back and thought it would be good to try and replicate it. There are only one or two pictures I can find, so there will be a lot of guess work and poetic licence.

It shows a vehicle modified into a mobile work station, used by the Australian 1st Div in Burma. I will be using the Tamyia Jeep as the base.

This will push my scratchery to the limits but it should be fun.

    cheers

Only the Aussies can come up with such a field modification...interesting. If anybody can do it it's you Scottie. Pulling up a chair for this. Any tea and biscuits?

    Cheers,

...at some point the Jeep incorporated a power take-off. I'm aware of many uses post-war, but am unsure when it was incorporated. I imagine it would require another stick to engage/disengage. Neat idea.

Paul, the transfer box in the kit while being very simplistic does have the PTO part. And the cab floor had the moulded cover that could be removed. As to the PTO lever that's a good point I will have to check the pictures.

Richard, I may have a look later but I'm hoping that I have enough in the odds and sods box for the moment.

Work has started. I have removed or filled the moulded parts of the tub ready for the scratch work and PE later. Referring to Pauls previous post. One item in the PE was the access cover plate for the PTO. So I have opened it up and drilled the four bolt holes around the edge.

So, you are off on another epic bout of scratchery. This should keep you busy for a while. Will follow avidly.

I have had a go at making the generator. This will be driven by a belt attached to the transfer box later. It still needs a final clean up.

Paul, is this in addition to the other three selectors. which I would imagine are gears, high/low range and 2/4 wheel drive
