Thank you all for the great comments on the lathe, but I wasn't happy I could do better. It didn't look like the one in the picture as the upper pully shaft was to chunky and in the wrong place and the drive pully was far to thick. So I have reworked it, and I am far happier now.
I have also been working on the Jeep while waiting for bits to dry. I have added the bead around the top of the side panels. Detailed the fuel tank with scrap PE and added some detail to the seat.
cheers

I have added loads of detail, but like an idiot I forgot to take some pictures before painting. Any hoo, the engine had the dynamo, the fuel strainer, the coil HT leads, distributor and the moulded fan belt was removed new pully's made and a new fan belt added from masking tape. the engine bay detail was also added with brake lines fuse box and cables and some other stuff to make it look busy.
The rear axle has also had some nut detail added. The large moulded location pegs were removed from the axle and the location points removed from the chassis. These were really not required in the kit as the axle locates in the right place on the the springs anyway. I guess it's just part of Tamyia's make it easy to build ethos. Again I forgot to take any pics prior to painting.
cheers

Incredible detailing as usual Paul. I trust you will be displaying it with the bonnet up after all that work.Steve👍 1Comment

Hi Scottie,
Apologies for being absent. Been up North and recovering from the trip like doing the house chores that I have been neglecting.
Been reading through the pages...where did you find the latest model of the shrinking ray gun? Mines obsolete and need to upgrade. Dang it! Some lovely jewels you have there...each a work of art and little model kits by themselves...lovely. I'm beginning to think you're addicted to this in a good way. By far the best scratching I've seen and I had to add another lens to the magnifier again. I like the way you said..."still need to connect the wires"...as if to test if it works.
Encore! Encore!...take many bows. You deserve it.
Cheers,

I'm working on the Jeep itself at the moment. Firstly my apologies for the crap photos I must really take a course in photography lol. One thing I always try and do is remove the solid spring hangers and fabricate something a bit better. In this case they were quite easy as the jeep just has a link pin connecting the spring to the chassis via a hanger which I made from brass sheet. On my reference pics there are some mounts under the radiator grill these were again made from brass strip. Finally rivet detail has been added some are a bit over scale but it's better than no detail IMHO.
cheers
