Eehaw!!, a Donkey, a Bedouin and a Snake vignette

Thread owner
If you see a wriggly thing on the right of the previous image...well that's the snake made from bent wire and putty... the wire is brass coated with metal primer so it doesn't oxidise and ruin the paint applied later
IMG_20250209_151453.jpg Rough shaping the putty round the top and when cured will add more putty detailing and shaving off extra bits. I sprayed Mr Surfaces in layers to build up thickness to parts of the body.
IMG_20250209_195048.jpgMade the horns and fangs from bits of plastic cut to shape glued it on with CA and strengthened around with more putty.
IMG_20250215_204548.jpg Finally drilled out the eyes and now awaiting painting.

ooh it's really coming together now Richard.
Brilliant work on the snake head- can you post a pic with something for scale comparison-I bet it's TINY!

Thread owner
Thanks Neil and Joe,
I don't think it's that tiny...I didn't have anything to compare with the reference images so it may be a little exaggerated so it can be seen.
Here's the comparison shot next to a blade and holder...

It's about time I change the blade.

Hissing Sid is looking good.

Thanks Jim, Sid is an English reference to whom?????

I have decided on an ammo belt for the Jezail and from reference it has a pouch for the lead balls and some containers to hold the gun powder.
The belt was done first...
IMG_20250309_015952.jpg
Then the pouch added after I reversed the buckle arrangement...

The close ups really make this very crude and I must smooth things over before painting.
I then made the powder containers from sprue and putty.

I will reprime and start with the painting... how many times have I said that already.

Thanks Richard, as far as I know like our new forum platform it has its own issues implementing the new online business which is part of Lucky Models. I seldom do online purchases so am not sure what's going on. Delays in delivery I suppose. If I hear anything I'll let you know.

Thanks Graeme, I just reprime both the figures just the other day. Haven't taken any photos yet.

Hi All,
Just smoothened the surface and got rid of any bumps and sinks. Also did the kicked up sand with cotton...very delicate process by adding tony bits at a time. Hope it's convincing at this angle...

The little hole and pencil marks in the foreground is where the snake will be buried. Another delicate process. I dropped it and lost a horn so needs repair...luckily the fangs weren't affected.

Looks great Wabble.Does look like a windswept desert and kicked up sand looks effective.
Nice.

Wabble, looks very effective from here.

Scottie, from this angle it looks convincing but from the top I'm having issues. I have to spray the colours on before subtracting bits of the cotton to look right. Testing with hair spray to see if it stays still.

Cheers,
Wabble
