Cheers Joe. I am going to have a final look for it before I put the side section on. Once its all in and the fuzz joined up you can hardly see it so I am not overly concerned.

I have had a successful day at the bench today. First task was joining the two fuzz halves together. They were not a bad fit but I had to apply some pressure on the top join to bring the sides together just infront of and to the rear of the cockpit. I did some sanding down to try and improve the fit but didn't seem to make much difference.
Just to be on the safe side I ended up reinforcing the top join from the inside using fine fibreglass sheet and epoxy.
Next up were the wings. The fit of the wing went really well and the large gap that I had seen when I did a dry fit never materialised. The only issue I have to resolve is a gap on one side on the wing root fillets. The other side is perfect.
This is the bad side.
And this is the better side.
These are the wing joins where I had anticipated a large gap but they will require only minimal tidying up
The lower engine cowling is a lovely fit and will just require slight sanding at the front to line it up.
I had to fit the rear tail wheel strut prior to joining the fuzz together so to protect that for now I have given it a cardboard splint
So this is where I am at for now.
So all in all a good day building. Onwards and upwards.

First job to day was to sand the sump cowling back so that it was in line with the front of the aircraft. If you look in the pictures of my last post you can see it protrudes by about 1mm. Once this was done I started to fill some of the imperfections on the seams. Because they require so little filler I have used a liquid plastic putty which will be sanded back when dry.
This is the wing join.
Also started work on the prop blades, wheels and spinner. To get a better yellow finish on the tips of the blades after priming I gave them a quick coat of white and then applied the yellow. They just need the SM Black putting on.
Next up was painting the inside of the lower wing air scoops as painting after fitment would be difficult. Each scoop was made up of 6 pieces. Firstly I attached the internal radiators to the wing.
I then gave the wing a blast of light grey, the same color as the finished underside paint, in the area where the scoops were to be attached. The radiators were then painted black.
I then assembled the scoops. I have decided to have the scoops open at the rear to add more interest to the finished model. The scoops were then added to complete the fitment.
I have also added the canopy so that I can get the model primed and painted. Thanks for checking in.

So after filling and sanding back the fuzz seam joins a primer coat was added. Fairly pleased with my pre primer prep work as there was very little to correct on the model once the primer was on. I had some scribing work to do on the panel lines on the fuzz behind the cockpit back to the tail and also on the two panel lines on the nose cowling. I felt confident enough to then add the rudder in preparation for the top coats and pre shading.
I did notice that there was a slight ridge up from the fuzz where the front of the canopy sat. I thought I could get away with it but in the end decided to blend it in abit better so after doing some preshading I added a small amount of filler which just needs sanding back.
Started adding the duck egg green to the tail ,undercarriage bays and insides of the wing where the flaps will be open.
Thats it for now. If all goes to plan this weekend will see the paintwork completed.

That's a tidy looking office.
You've not wasted any time on this have you Steve!!! I've got this in the stash too but am doing something else for this GB but it's good to know about the gaps for the future!

Great job getting to this stage. Quite a lot of fettling needed but that's all turned out well. Fibre glass reinforcement - that's a first
