Brian's Caldercraft 1/72 HMS Victory

Looking stunning Brian. Just fore mast lifts, then tacks and braces to go. Oh don't forget a couple of halliards for the colours.
Thanks John got the anchors and davits to do also and still undecided about the ships boats .....maybe just one?

I am not 100% sure but I don't believe that Victory had Davits at Trafalgar. Ships boats were traditionally hauled in and out via a tackle using the main mast yard, or the main mast fore stay.

I would vote for no ships boats on the main deck but its your model so go with your feeling.

well Bri my mate les fitted 2 ships boats on his big victory but he died just before he finished them hope that helps sir

Just checked on Chatgpt and apparently Victory did carry davits at Trafalgar after a refit a few years earlier. Boats were still carried in the waist on skids however although they would be lowered away while in action.

Thanks for that John so doing the davits anchors a few bits and bobs finishing the rigging and calling it done :) I'm excited for my next project and I invested in aftermarket ropes and blocks which look fantastic :)
