Btw..... Japanese for typhoon is taifu so that fits nicely

Yup, about twenty per cent of Japanese words are 'loan words' borrowed from European languages, mostly English, but 台風 taifu is one that has loaned the other way, there are a many others such as kamikaze karaoke futon sushi bonsai ramen origami sudoku and zen for example, where as 'anime' is a loan of a loan travelling there and back from it's root of 'Animation'

In my previous Japanese 'Buccaneer' build which I called 'Kaizoku' which is Japanese for 'pirate'
Miko (the stalled for years Japanese Lightning 'what if?' will be called 'Kaminari' (雷) which is Japanese for lightning but translates as God's cry" or "roaring god". which is pretty cool and appropriate)

Really nice result Miko. The Typhoon looks great in the Japanese markings. In the future you will need a Tempest to go with it

Nice job Miko. What's the inspiration arounf the 'WIF', not that there has to be.

I'm a bit of a Japanophile, the GCAP consortium including Japan along with Italy and UK seems a plausible 'whatif' and. . . I have a number of JASDF kits with lots of spare decals!! , this isn't my first RAF to JASDF crossover, there's a two tone blue JASDF Buccaneer in here somewhere?

Miko (altering reality as I go!)

With so many cancelling F-35s for Gripens, this is not so much a 'what if' so much as a 'why not?'

Oh yeah. That Buccaneer is sweet too
