I think that explains the cost of the kit...
….and the cost of the actual warship…..
Just the decorations on sale £450
The decorations cost £6800 which in the 16th century was the cost of a ship of the line
(the bronze decorations get very hot when grinding) I have no gloves and even if I did the parts are very small catch 22.

As to burning fingers, a trick I used when I used to do a lot of soldering, was to wrap my gripping fingers in plaster strapping. It comes on a roll, like sticking plasters, but can be cut to length. Gives enough flexibility to retain grip, but enough protection to take the edge off the heat.

King charlie 1 just insisted on it, the the ship cost £65000+ and almost bankrupted the country lol, but she was a very powerful 100+ gun ship and performed well until a night watchman fell asleep on watch with a open lantern and the ship burned to the waterline
