I had to look up Paverpol to see that it is a hardener. That base is looking superb John, and the process is interesting. What does the addition of PVA do to the filler mix?
Joe
  • It stops the filler from peeling or popping off smooth surfaces like wood, MDF, or pink/blue XPS foam.
  • Prevents Cracking: PVA adds elasticity to the plaster or filler mix, which reduces shrinkage and cracking as it dries.
  • Stronger Surface: The dried mix is much less brittle, meaning it resists chipping if your base gets bumped.
  • Looked it up as Ive always done it ;)

Thanks John, very informative

Ive just applied the chipping fluid, now waiting for it to dry, then Its on with the final colour.
Interesting to read that Tamiya XF paints need to dry for several days before the chipping. You can speed up this part by applying Tamiya LP -9 CLEAR, allowing it to dry, and then straight on to the chipping.
