Weren't these 'offiially' the Luxembourg Air Force at one stage! Just so the principality had an active airborne NATO component?
And the Luxembourg AF has the oddest roundels too, what with the stripes and the Lion rampant

HI Steve well the box was a bit crushed an is a bit worn but it came with FRAGILE all over it but they still manged to crush the box but was packed well an the kit is ok as ive looked along the an wings an they seem ok so hopefully no probs

WELL Steve i dint know that but i love the plane been wanting one for yrs an the hwkeye but these are the LAST kits i will ever buy as getting old an may snuff it before i can build them all but i hope to light them all up oh what fun ive got comin lol

My birthday present arrived today:
Unfortunately where were none in the UK when SWMBO ordered it for me; John said they were expected mid-September, so it seems to be a few days early!
First impressions are that it's a lot better behaved than my old Fisons Whirlimixer that came from a University lab and shakes too violently so it's hard to hold a paint bottle on it whereas this Gaahleri one has enough weight to hold it steady, helped by suckers on the corners, and the top holds the bottle so it's a hands-off operation. I've tried it with a 60 ml bottle of Stynylrez that's been standing for a year or so but mixed fine after 3 minutes - possibly less time would be enough but I wasn't in a hurry! I've also tried it with a bottle of Model Air as in the photo, and a Tamiya jar. The Tamiya jar rotates slowly while being shaken; I'm not sure if that reduces the effect of the vortex, but it still seemed to mix well.
Tomorrow I'll try to dig out some really old paints and see how it copes with those, but so far I'm impressed. I couldn't use the Whirlimixer in the house because it vibrates too much and shakes everything around it, whereas this new one is pleasantly quiet even on the maximum power setting.
The box includes a USB power supply and a smooth self-adhesive sticker to give the suction feet something to stick to if your benchtop isn't smooth.
I'd recommend it.

I usually just manually shake and stir, but maybe it's time to shake things up (pun intended!). However, how much paint do you think you have saved from drying out and not being usable? I know I end up throwing a few out because they dried out, does this help prevent that?

Mixing won't prevent the paint from drying out.

I picked these up recently.



They are paint filters,which hopefully should sieve out those tiny bits of crud that ends up in your paint now and again.
There are two sizes of mesh included, not sure how much difference they will make but thought they were worth a go.

I got some of these last year geoff and for me they were a game changer. I used to mix the paints thoroughly in a shaker , thin them in a separate mixing cup , stir thoroughly again and would I still get tiny bits clogging the nozzle causing spattering and reduced flow . Since Ive bern using these , no problems and its surprising how much they filter out even when you think the paint is lump free . Thing is though , you must clean them straightaway after use to ensure the mesh doesnt get clogged
