Cheers Tony. Yep, the tow bar was a surprise, and they made it fiddly to construct. I wasn't going to bother with it, but I already have enough left overs in my spares box

Decals have been applied, and there were lots of them. It took me a whole day and even then I left off some tiny subtle ones, which to be perfectly honest I just couldn't be arsed with.
Must have been a Soviet thing, but the stencils were largely blue in colour, which makes them hard to see against the grey.
Trumpeter's decals were thin and settled down with very little solution required. There was however a few misprints of decal numbers in the instructions, leaving you to work out where they should go. They could have separated the stencil positions from the main scheme to help with that.
There were no rips or issues, other than attempting to get black strips to wrap around the missiles. I know for the future to paint them instead. I did some research and found the same missiles with no black bands, so I got out of jail there.

Thank you Geoff. I enjoy applying the main decal markings on any kit, as you say they bring the finish to life. But like masking I truly dislike tiny stencils... Modern jets seem to be covered in them.Ooh that looks very nice Joe

YES Looks good Joe an yes i love it when decaling as long as the decals dont splinter an like you i hate them tiny bands what fit on the missles as they just wont go where you want them will they so yes painting the bands is a very good idea an love the mig very well done sir

That is a real treat for the eyes. Great paint job, the pre-shade has worked very well. Strange looking towing bar, not seen that before.
