YES Kaci thought you would go back to cars best that you do i suppoce as you havnt a lot of space in your flat have you for these big planes but at least you had a go i admire you for thatthis is my first and will be my last aircraft as i'm not comfortable with them cars etc more my genre but will finish it as best i can
THEN DO SO if you are not happy but i thought you was doin goodCars I can do no bother. Everyone has the own niche. I done this to see if I could diverse. But unfortunately I can't it's IMO turning out utter crap not happy with any of it so far. And I am considering shelving it
I make my own from Humbrol liquid poly and cut up sprue. Chuck some bits of sprue into the poly and it dissolves into a thick filler. Adjust the amount of sprue for thickness- hey presto you saved a few bob.I should be able to sort it out. Bought filler so see how it goesView attachment 1293693
It's quite often the way, we are our own worst critics at times.Well having slept on this and looking with fresh eyes it isn't as bad as I thought now the paint has dried soo on I continue
ive heard of stuff called sprue glue might need to add to my stockKaci, a lot of the issues you are getting here are due this being a poor kit that is fighting back. The wing and fuselage fit in particular are quite poor. A hint if I may. Old fashioned stretched sprue can be useful on wing joints. It glues in as well as kit parts, but adds to the structural strength (nothing worse than a wing joint cracking after the beast is painted), sands at the same rate as the surrounding parts, and can be dressed to the same finish as the kit parts.. You have filler cracked from your car kit builds I think![]()
Don’t let this put you off trying other genres because the experience can be very rewarding and lead to an increase in your already formidable skill set. Best advice i can give though, is choose a better starting kit.
OH GOOD Kaci be nice to see it finished i only wish i could build as fast as you do well done if you can finish it an then get back to your cars where you are happyWell having slept on this and looking with fresh eyes it isn't as bad as I thought now the paint has dried soo on I continue
YES WE are joe as it took me all my time to finish an push myself to finish that big hornet but now im pleased i did as she looks good lit up on her shelf an the same with the big hustler again i was thinking can i build it as its warped but then the moddler in me that stubbon streak takes over lol as patince is one of my strong points to get the model built or it would nag at me for ever as ive never given up on a model an im finding that again on this F16 that TAMYIA has in my opinion OVER ENGINENEERED IT but im getting there with itIt's quite often the way, we are our own worst critics at times.
YES TIM very good advise there i'll take that onboard as well for me alsoKaci, a lot of the issues you are getting here are due this being a poor kit that is fighting back.
