Hi guys

those of us who were around in the 1970's may well remember the rather 'interesting' translations in the early Tamiya instructions, I saw this on the WWW and it remided me of those early transaltions:

It was quite amusing trying to decypher the Japanese Engrish back then.

Cheers,
Richard

Some translations are brilliant. The best I've had was on a spray booth I bought a few years ago.

Here's a few from Hobby Search in Japan,

TKO2030 is Hanoma and Mailer Volkswagen to V2 rocket (rocket transportation / launch pad combined car) - is a set of grayed SS100 tractor. You can reproduce the fire scene compelling. - V2 launch kit w/Hanomag, Meillerwagen trailer and V2 rocket

The Germans were using half-track a lot of traction, such as a gun.
But a new tractor rough road drivability is to be required more lessons from the war, such as the Eastern Front
It was to be developed. And the Doraipin simple to track development began in the view Thing Inc.
And adopt a wide using, on the other hand speed had been kept lower than the half-track traditional. -Bronco SWS halftrack

Kfz.1003t crane truck has been deployed to the German maintenance company Kfz.100 is used at the beginning and the replacement of the engine retrofit and guns of various types of tanks Tiger I, turret if III No. · IV Panzer class lifting is was possible. In addition, it is equipped with a towing brace, and such are also used to tow recovery of the failed vehicle, and I was working as a unsung hero of the front. -This is what Steve, airborne 1 is building at the moment AFV Büssing Nag 4500A w/Bilstein 3ton crane.

At least they say that these are translated by a machine and may not be totally correct. Haven't found a Aeroplane repellant cannon yet.......

Prost

I remember reading some instructions for a pull out larder unit where the literal translation had me in stitches, instead of saying " see exploded drawing " it said " see the blasting drawing "
