After the past few months of hell, dealing with my Rheumatoid Arthritis, I have managed to get back to the modelling bench now that the weather has been warmer. It has taken a while to get these two builds completed and problems with my hands meant that I kept dropping the models! Both kits have been brush-painted and not airbrushed as I thought it would be good therapy for my fingers. Decals were not very good which is not surprising given the age of the kits (one is from the Seventies and the other from the Sixties). I replaced the fin flashes and roundels with aftermarket ones.

My build of the Airfix 1/72 DHC Chipmunk T10 (01054-0)

Not my finest builds ever, but I have got a lot of satisfaction from being able to model again.

Despite your arthritis the models look very nice Dave :thumb2: have fun with the next ones

Despite the kits being geriatric and your own arthritis problem those have turned out well.
but I have got a lot of satisfaction from being able to model again.
And that's probably the most important thing to come out of these two builds.

Nice job Dave. Glad you have been able to return to some semblance of normality.

Well done.

And another two old favourites brought out into the light and finished superbly.
Well done, must try dropping mine before brush painting and hope they turn out as good as yours.

Very nice Dave. I have a bit of a soft spot for trainers, when you think how many pilots started their flying careers in aircraft just like these.

Dave, nicely done. The Gnat was the very first kit I ever built the old Airfix series one in the bag.

Thanks everybody. :smiling:

@scottie3158 Paul, the Gnat above is an original polybag issue from 1964, so that would have been the one you built. The Chipmunk, on the other hand, is a mere whippersnapper in comparison being released in 1969, although my build is of the 1973 blister pack release.
