It seems (almost on the photo), but if you add a filter or wash, it will turn at your taste ;)

Looking good Ian. Good decision on the paint change as it was on the light side. I liked the previous black primer pics as it looked like an evil bat.:) Keep up the good work mate seems a shame to crash it. Cheers John

Just caught up with this one again Ian & wow you're doing an amazing job! Definitely agree that the desert yellow (Tamiya?) looks better.

With all those rivets, it must be a real PITA getting the decals to bed down.

Yes it was a PITA Patrick but the micro sol did it's trick.

Nice decal work Ian. And also a good decision to change the sand shade, it looks much more like RLM79 than the previous version

Ian

Totally missed this one so I have had a very enjoyable read through. You are a brave man to damaged a perfectly good build the way you have.

My answer to your question is a macabre one I'm afraid - a body of a pilot?

Steve

Hi Ian,
Looking good fella, I do love a good looking Stuka, and this is a damned good looking Stuka,

When building a dio i usually ask myself how the 'subject' got to where it is, and what am i wanting to show the viewer, does the dio tell a story ?.. so maybe you could start from there and add things to help you tell that story.

So if i may suggest, maybe you could bend the remaining props to replicate the damage that would be caused by them spinning as it hit the deck, and possibly flatten the lower nose/engine cowling as it would probably crumple upon impact..

Possibly add some more damage like canon shell hits to show the viewer the cause for the crashed aircraft, also if it's possible could you add any frame work into the broken tail section, to show the aircraft's skeleton covered by the outer skin,

And maybe you could add some kind of additions to the groundwork..like the odd bush or two.

Like Steve has posted above maybe you could add a body, or if not a body then maybe a bundle of cloth to replicate a discarded parachute, ..(i'm thinking that the pilot and gunner have bailed out, and walked back to the downed aircraft to grab and survival kit/ rations..etc, before wandering off into the desert in hope of rescue..)

Excuse my ramblings, i'm having a brain-storm after seeing this.

Looking forward to seeing more of this as it nears the finish line..:thumb2:
