My dad has given me this kit as he has a few beaufighter kits and as I want to improve my aircraft building I accepted it gratefully.
I think it'll be interesting painting and weathering it in nightfighter colours.

What would folks recommend primer or not for black?

Dave

Personally i always prime dave , i feel it helps the top coat to adhere better to the model , plus it shows up any seams etc that need sorting before the top coat. I primed my mosquito nightfighter in black primer , then used a slightly lightened black to fill in the centre of the panels to give a bit of variation to the monotone finish. This way you dont have to mess about trying to do a panel line wash . Hope this helps cheers tony

I have primed and painted the base interior green ready for detailing etc. Tried to find what colour to do the wheel wells but found nothing as yet.

Only just found this build. I have two beaufighter kits to build so i'll be following this one.

I always use primer! - I've got the Revell 1/48 Beaufighter TF.X in the queue, just waiting for some decals..............................

Not a great deal has been going on what with car trouble and starting my garage conversion Into my model room.

I thought I would make an effort in the cockpit not my favourite job maybe the main reason I avoid aircraft.

I had a little setback I put a finger print in the landing light glass so I gave it a light sand then polished with metal polish which has almost fixed it a little more work should sort it. Phew!

It was a freebie for me to I've had another couple of goes with the polish and it's much improved.

I have sprayed the top coats on which was really tricky over black primer but it seemed to turn out ok now the gloss coat is on ready for decaling in the morning.
