Some or another British car, light utility, 4×2 — likely Austin, Hillman or Morris. However, I wouldn’t be able to tell one from another without seeing the manufacturer’s badge on it, let alone from photos like these :)

ouch!

Hi Neil,
I would say Austin/Morris based on front wing shape and grille

Hillman had taller wings and a more curved grille

Definitely not a Standard Tilly as they had a more square front end

thanks Simon
so definitely British - Army, Navy or RAF I wonder?
time to hit the google images I guess

Going by the old Observer’s Military Vehicles book by Bart Vanderveen, the difference between Austin and Morris is easiest to tell by the vents on the sides of the bonnet, which aren’t visible in your model photo. The Austins have large vents, either with fairings or simply open rectangles with mesh, the Morrises have lid-like panels with small vents.

Neil.
Looking at the model I'd have said Army, purely by the spade on the roof, the RAF or Navy wouldn't need one would they ?
