So I thought I’d do my rendition of it.
I’ve got the tracks painted and fitted, also put some numbers and clear on. It’s now ready for some weathering.

That armour is often called “bedstead armour” but as the photo makes clear, it’s obviously not old beds that were lashed to the tanks (as is a common misconception based on the name).

IIRC there should also be a white cross on the turret top, front–aft and left–right, to go with the white line around the turret. These were identification markings so the air forces of the Western Allies wouldn’t strafe Soviet tanks.

Yes, though I suspect it wouldn’t go over the cupola because that makes it harder to paint These white bands and crosses were only officially used in April 1945, but it appears many tanks had them for longer (by May, the turret roof was supposed to have a big triangle painted on it instead, but this wasn’t always done).
