This truck Is something I have seen posted in wartime photos on the I-net. Conscripted by the Wehrmacht they served throughout the war. Using a couple of left over trailers from another kit I removed the tarp covered cargo bed and used the enclosed trailer van body to make a van body for the truck. here is my progress so far.P1011092.JPGP1011093.JPGP1011094.JPGP1011095.JPGP1011096.JPGP1011098.JPGP1011099.JPGP1011100.JPGP1011101.JPG

A cracking conversion Rick. It's easy to forget how small these models are. Lovely work all round

Thanks Steve, I hope to get the remaining bits of detail done soon. Still waiting for taillight lenses to arrive from California. Those will be installed after the wet stuff so still plenty to do.
Cheers, Rick H.

Yes, they were a bit odd in a combat situation. I have seen photos of this type of vehicle in caravans travelling by road in eastern Europe. Thanks for dropping by Peter.

All the bits and bobs added...front license plate, headlight buckets drilled for clear lenses, drivers side mirror, exhaust tail pipe added. In the second view,P1011102.JPGP1011103.JPG the tail lights located and drilled for red lenses, rear license plate installed and one of the newly acquired pintle hitches installed. windshield wipers will be added after the paint goes on today. Another update soon. Rick H.

Top marks Rick, looks the business. Very neat convertion.
As Peter has said looks a unusual, a bit of an odity.

Thanks JR. I'll be posting up some more pics. when the paint dries. The Wehrmacht was always in short supply of trucks and trailers to move men and material. This shortage forced them to conscript vehicles wherever they could lay hands on them. Consequently, they ended up providing me with sooooooooo many modeling opportunities, it is mind boggling! Rick H.

Fantastic work rick , and in such a small scale . The conversion looks superb , looking forward to seeing the finished build , cheers tony

Great conversion work Rick. And, as Tony says, in such a small scale that is some feat.
Cheers

Thank you all for the kind comments. I'll post this in the completed softskins when I get it done.

Wonderful work on such a small scale Rick. Nice to see it all base coated and ready for you to work your magic on.

Thank you Mr. Jones. Now that the base coat is dry I did a light brown oil wash to set the stage for a rather dusty appearance. You know those Russian steps in June can be a regular dust bin that time of year. Still waiting for tail lights. Will post an update soon. Rick H.

Here are a couple of progress shots. I've been informed the tail lights should ship this week, hope to see them soon. Rick H.P1011108.JPGP1011109.JPG
