Nice start John. And you can't beat a set of Fruils!
Cheers
Paul
Cheers Paul, I'd use them all the time if the versions were made for most of the stuff I have, unfortunately not available for the early Russian types.:disappointed:.

You are so correct Paul. A little work is needed to clean them up, but there is nothing like the feel of heavy metal on a tank...…….

Dude 2, what are you talking about??? They make them for early Ruskie stuff...….I like the pic in the garden with the Friuls. I should send a copy to Giuseppe at the company in Hungary!!!...We could call it "Friuling in the Garden"…………...

Bleib Gesund

PM later.….

AHHH friul traks.... you love them....or you just love them.... even when you assemble all the 186 of them and the 186 holes.....

Hi Greg, I'm with the LOVED EM :thumb2:

German? did you run out of 4BO on your side of the channel?

Seriously though nice choice John and a great start on the hull, wheels and Fruils :thumb2: .

Good none of us have lost our sense of humor:thumb2:

Another sunny day here, so sat in the sun, optivisor on and drilled out one set of tracks, the majority being straight fwd, a few needing some cleaning.

Then into the cave.

All well.
There are no screens in the kit for those air intakes, but in my spares box I've found some Trumpeter . KV1 /KV2 .

What about cutting those lower ones down ? I know I will loose some of the edging.

Any thoughts on this will be welcome.

Thanks for looking in, abuse and comments welcome.
John.

You could cut them down on all four sides, by the look of it, and then use plastic strip to make a new edge to it.

nice going John,pe makes all the different to a build i find, with the track links you drill out with a small drill or by a hand one,
and i find if you just sit and do them ,you get them done if you sit and complain about them and look they never get done lol
plus you get the right sag as well, look forward to seeing them, :smiling:

Yes Jakko that would complete the outer frame well . Think I have some thin plastic sheet or even better some strip.:thumb2:

That's the only way Monica, just sit and get on with them. Think they are always worth the effort and the price .

John. Glad you got some sun today and enjoyed it seems it’s calmed you down or maybe it’s the shortage of Yorkshire tea anyway looks like this is coming together

Thanks Lee :smiling3:The good news is supplies have been ordered and at the minute there is stock !!!!!!

I'm following your fine work with interest. I like the Pz III in the last variants.
If I may suggest, after several deluding and sometimes painful trials with drilling my first set of Friul tracks (Panther late type), I found it easier to assemble at least a dozen of track elements on the edge of a rigid and adhesive support, e.g.: a small plastic chopping board stealthily subtracted from wife's reign and made sticky with some double-sided scotch tape (sorry but I'm missing the correct english name for that stuff :fearful:, I mean that scotch tape sticky on both sides :smiling6:). This done, I proceed in drilling the holes, insert the pins, trim and glue them without any risk for my fingers and the proceeding is smoother and less boring, at least to me. I use the Tamiya electric handy drill: it looks like a toy, comes in a kit box but it works.

I'd say you got exactly the right name there, or at least the most commonly used one.

All looking good Papa John.Never assembled any Fruil tracks,Worst was indie placcy links on a Dragon Sherman V.B nightmare and some dick with ears namely me put them on tank wrong way round,
Carry on Papa.Percy.

Hi Andrea, thank you, that's a good idea. I spear my self occasionally, its like doing a blood test ! Might well have a go at your method, oh by the way nothing wrong with your English,:thumb2: I can't even speak Italian let alone write it.:disappointed2:

Thank you; I'll add it to my vocabulary.

Richard :smiling3: you are not alone my friend, I put some tracks on the wrong way, but was pleased when someone pointed out some tracks in a photos that were wrong, and that was in a museum !!
