Evening all , another fine day so the other tracks were drilled out, so now I'm ready to assemble.

Went back into the cave and started on the mesh for covering the air filers .

Used some.

Ok not the flattest in scale , but good enough.

Bit of a lift on the left, but again a bit of a struggle. Bit of kit on top and snow and all will be well .

A bit rough for the experts , but I'm happy.

C&C Welcome.

John.

Worst was indie placcy links on a Dragon Sherman V.B nightmare and some dick with ears namely me put them on tank wrong way round,
That’s not unheard-of in the real world, so not a major problem. Take a good look at the tracks on this Churchill AVRE that’s lying on its side:

Just trim the bits to size when the glue is dry. It’s usually easier with this kind of thing to make parts overhang the edges and trim them back than to get the sizes right from the start.

John,
Nice additions.
Thanks Paul, no where near your standard but trying :smiling3:

Thanks Jakko, I'l leave for a day or so, other wise knowing my luck I'll pull the lot off :smiling:.

Nice to see you taking on the scratchery work of the air filters. Once tidied up and painted I'm sure they will look the part. Keep it comin my friend.

Morning John,
Nice touch with the screens, like the guys say with a trim and a bit of paint they’ll blend right in :thumb2:

You got more patience than me Papa John.Im cack handed with etch and glad i dont mess around with the stuff now.If i ever do a plastic kit again i will build out of box for the pleasure.
Onwards and upwards matey.
Richard.

Hi John
PE grill definitely worth doing. Good idea of Jakko's to replace all the frame. I wouldn't worry if they're not perfect. I reckon a few heavy booted tankies and a few carelessly dumped stores and that grill would look beaten up.
Stay safe :thumb2:

Thanks Jim, bit of kit as you say will hide any bits.

Looking good John.

Andy.
Cheers Andy.

Looks much better with the mesh grills.
Top stuff :thumb2:
Paul
Thanks , definitely was worth the effort .
John .

Hi John, you know how hard it is getting travel approvals(meeting up with a bunch of rascals and watching a friend fixing up a tank) and flights to UK now with the lockdown. Am still in quarantine and will join as soon as I'm out...save me a place, meanwhile I'll watch online on my HP small screen. BTW what did you do with Si's raisin cakes??

Sorry not very clear on the screen and why is it German?

Cheers,
Richard

Hi Richard.
Greeting from a wet UK. Unfortunately the front row grabbed them and a squabble broke out resulting in several chairs needing repair. :anguished:Order was restored with the threat of Matron being called.:worried:
Sorry your unable to arrange travel at this time, although you could have come by sea from France as quite a few have this week. A seat is being reserved for you on row 2 near Jim.:thumb2:
Now why German.......................... mmm that's a good question, tell you what lets blame Steve:tongue-out3:

Welcome Greg, if your feeling strong you can sit with the Rabble, but I warn you they seem to be all effected by a sudden case of isolation madness, and are likely to have out bursts.

Right back to the build.

As it was such a sunny day I decided to work in the garden, what better than the sound of a Black Bird , a mower in the back ground, the smell of newly mowed grass, heaven !

Started with those wheels, cleaned up the cut off marks and then removed as much of the seam line as possible, then roughed them up and removed quite a bit of the outer rim of rubber.

Then decided to do the Friul's along with a cup of strong tea to carry me.

Picked up the box and caught sight of the type and date they were fitted.

1943/45, so not the correct ones for 1942.

Back into the cave and found the correct type. Mind I don't thing many would notice.

With the correct year I set too and cleaned all 230 , not a lot needed doing on this first stage, a few had very small moulding marks, quick file and into the "done " box
Tomorrow i'll do the drill through, with luck out side in the sun.

The sharp eyed will have notice damp slabs, I'd just moved the watering system.

Thanks for looking in C & C welcome.

Thanks John.
Not interested where you tip out the bath water - get the tracks done.....

Nice job Mr Race, though you want to tread carefully down the scratch detailing path, as once you start, it tends to overwhelm you! Take it from me...:rolling:

The tracks are resting Mike, other pressing things to attend to like branches :nerd::smiling3::upside:

Thank you kind sir. It's too late to worry, I've stocked up on several PE sets for a KV 2 , had a moment of madness. I am seeking help from Matron .
