A bit of background to this build, it's set in second would war on the little know Island on Toonwaii it's north, straight up and a bit to the left about 200 miles from it's big brother Hawaii. The UUS Missouri in the deep water port Toonsville Harbour for restocking but while waiting the Japanese have launched a sneak air attack on the ships in port with fighters and torpedo planes.

Very rough mock-up

Japanese aircraft.

The aircraft will attacking from both sides.

Pete.

Nice idea Pete. Can’t help thinking that Toonwaii sounds a bit geordie though....

Nope, you just couldn’t make it up....it’s even pronounced “Toon, Why Aye”

I don't suppose the Minions will jump into the fray and help defend the harbor from the evil imperial Japanese attackers....Have they even returned from their "romp" on that other Pacific Island not far away? Keep it coming Pete! Rick H.

Hi small update, drilled out all the gun barrels of the 10" gun using my new drill brilliant by the way and a 0.35 drill bit.
I now can appreciate what Jim had to do on his one when he built his :thumb2: .
Before and after drilling.

"Mighty Mo" is finished apart from paint, you may have noticed I've left of the props that is because it will be below sea level.
Now off to build some B5N2 or Kate's and A6M's
Thank you for looking in.
Pete

Hi Pete
Looking good. Nice job on the gun barrels. Not easy to drill centrally. Looing forward to the paint.

Hi made up three of each aircraft removed all the undercarriages from them as they were from a toon Japanese aircraft carrier I built last year and were left over added radio antenna to all of them and torpedoes to the B5N2 even managed to recut the panel lines.

Back to the harbour buildings to see what I can try and improve.
Cheers Pete.

Hi Jim was looking at your build before I drilled mine you don't really appreciate how much actually goes into building something will you do it yourself, a belated well done as for the paint hope I get a finish as half good as yours and I'll be happy.
Thank you as always looking in.
Pete.
PS do you know they make a Toon HMS Hood now.

Why not give Ron's missus Justine a call? As she showed in his recent Lancaster build, she's a great pilot so should be able to manage one of those single-engine jobbies. Then you'll be able to get some real photos.

That ship is a lot more detailed than I was expecting from the early picture. And of course you've improved upon it. Great work on the teeny tiny planes too!

It should be interesting to see this BB under attack by those little nippers:thumb2: Rick H.
