Scale Model Shop

Latest Acquisitions (2020)

Oh dear DAVE - Just what have you started now?? :flushed: :flushed:
;):smiling2::smiling2::smiling2:
This is what he started ...

The carton set off the kit detector inside the front door, however, after showing the Chief Detector Inspector that the contents were just 'kit parts' I was exonerated from any culpability - just joking really, as I have a partner who actually encourages my model building.

What great service from Eduard. Ordered late afternoon on Friday, delivered mid morning today (Tues) courtesy of TNT. Special thanks to Dave Ward ... :thumb2:

Well Neil, maybe it could go like the old board game,

"Go to the couch
Go directly to the couch
Do not pass go
Do not collect anything" (but the couch)

I nabbed this off evilbay and I don't know why, but this figure is so cool. He isn't doing anything except smoking…………..

Apologies to all you railway enthusiast though. It's going to get chopped around into something almost unrecognisable, if all goes to plan.

Andy,
the word 'Deltic' still brings back bad memories of working on the Napier Deltic engine............. It was used on some patrol boats made for some African State. They'd been brought back to overhaul the engines ( Vospers. Southampton ) I thought I knew about diesels, but they were a totally different ballgame, fiendishly complicated, and shoehorned into a space that was totally inadequate for maintenance! Keyhole surgery with special spanners! ( I think the trains could have their engines removed for overhaul ). I think everyone on the team had grazes, cuts, bruises and pulled muscles from the contortions needed to undo, and redo parts..................
Dave

Damn fine locomotives....Production deltics dominated the east coast main line for sixteen years, developing almost double the power of the steam locos they replaced. Spare power units were available so at service the in use unit was swapped out for a spare, then maintained off the engine. This improved reliability no end.
The kit was originally made by rosebud kitmaster and probably predates me....

That doesn't sound like it was any fun at all Dave!

There's a note in the bag Tim explaining that the moulds are over 50 years old and a bit of history about them being misplaced for a while. Quite interesting really. And to be fair, despite a few localised areas of flash, I've seen much worse in more modern kits!

In this case over sixty years, I think this dates from 1958!

Delivered by our Postman.

Big Ed for the Tempest - not yet decided on the Typhoon or Lysander PE sets.
The ones specifically for these kits have been discontinued by Eduard.

Das Werk 2cm Flak - loved the quality of the last kit I ordered - saw this on Evil Bay at
a good price. :flushed:
