Hasegawa F-16N Fighting Falcon. (US Navy Adversary Aircraft) in 1:72 Scale

So after having a good look at the sprues doesn't seem to be a bad kit at all. Little flash on some parts.
So here is where I got with the build today.
Cockpit primed and painted Light Grey and olive green for the seat.
Inside and outside of the cockpit area primed and painted same colour as cockpit.
And air intake and front landing gear bay assembled and fitted. Few fit issues, a little filling and sanding will be needed.
That's it for today. Keep a look out for my next update.

Carpet Monster Strikes Again!!!!
Well I was hoping to display on landing gear with Canopy open when finished. However I managed to drop one of the legs and have searched and searched but to no avail. So in flight it is.
Completed cockpit.
A lot of work for something that cant be seen.
Undercarriage doors closed due to the dreaded carpet monster lol.
Should be ready for painting sometime this week.

Update on the build!
Well after a few headaches with how to paint an aircraft with more than two colours. So its a bit rough for a first attempt at a scheme like this, some of the edges are not as neat as I would like. I have finally finished the paint scheme and coated with a gloss coat for decals and weathering.
I have used a Iwata Neo TRN1 airbrush for the primer. A HS Ultra with a 0.2 needle for the main colours. And an old Sparmax type copy (my first ever airbrush bought online) for the clear coat. I used Tamiya and Vallejo model colour acrylics matched from the Mr Hobby call outs on the instructions and used Alclad Klear Kote Gloss to finish.
Onto decals and weathering.

Well its finished. Its been a while and for my first attempt back in the saddle not a bad job. A few hiccups along the way and a lost landing gear part didn't help. The decals were an absolute nightmare. If they didn't disintegrate, they would not lay nicely. Not sure if it was because it was an old kit. Was afraid to use too much setting solution as some had broken with just water..
Anyway I have loved getting back into the hobby again. Thanks for all the likes and comments.

Looking very nice Steve. The funny thing is, every time I see one of these being built, it reminds me I still want one. It's a great looking aircraft, and I've never built one.

It wasn't the best of kits. If I remember correctly it only cost about £6. So what do you expect lol. I made a nice quality Hobby Boss one a good few years ago in 1:72 scale and that was a reasonable price £10 or £11. So there are some good quality kits out there.

Nice work Steve. That camouflage scheme can't have been easy, but your result is excellent. The old Hasegawa F-16A/C/N kits are still a good, and affordable, basis for a nice F-16 build. The later Academy kits look to be very nice, especially those with Cartograf decals. And of course the Tamiya kit is probably the best, but pricy as you might expect, even in 1/72.
