Happy new year, new thread for the new year.
And Please try to keep the chit chat to a minimum and at least on topic.

Ok, maybe a tad early, but the postman dropped this off earlier in a box as big as a suitcase,

The Revell kit box is 61cm x 43cm x 15cm deep and when I opened it up, here's what I got,

Kind of a waste of packaging I think.....The original Dragon markings are on every sprue though. Looks sweet and detailed. Now it's off to find a new apartment to put it in when it's built.....................

Nice start to the year Allen!

The razor saw I ordered was delivered today but I stupidly threw away the packaging before thinking of taking a picture.

Just a cheap thing off Ebay but I have tried it oon a couple of really fragile parts on the dump truck sprues and it does the job, just the thing to make my life a bit less stressful.

Birthday presents to me. A third on the way.

The hurricane is to go with my spitfire as a BoB pair and the lynx is because I wanted one and have never done a 1:32 and I feel like helicopters are better in larger scales. I’d have loved a wildcat but couldn’t find anyone that makes a kit.

I attend to buy models that look interesting to build although I never have a strict order to which model comes next, more how the mood takes me so the first buy of 2021 is this 1/350 scale Dreadnought.

I believe this one was the flag ship back in 1907?
My initial thoughts was to build HMS HOOD, but I thought I’d start off with the earlier battleship first plus it was half the price so quite good value.
Not sure when I’ll get around to this one but will be this year some time.

Revell's 1:110 scale HMS Bounty. Unsure whether to build with the kit supplied full sails, aftermarket full sails, aftermarket furled sails or no sails.

I have to say I am impressed with them as they really stand out, unfortunately they have sent the wrong ones as I asked for a set to fit the ZIL trucks but they sent ones for Gaz trucks, as they were cheap I will keep them as I will probably buy a Gaz model at some stage or perhaps they may fit one of the other trucks I have under the bench.
I also got a packet of these.

Makeup applicators, cheap as chips and will come in handy.

Andy.

Gosh, for a 1/350 scale model this boat ship seems smaller than expected. Here it is next to a 1/350 scale Titanic for size comparison.

Had some money for Christmas and saw this book on offer, so had to do it, came in a very large box via DHL !;
20210105_101414_resized.jpg

FAQ by Master figure painter Krill Kanaev (took him two years to write);

The detail inside the 486 pages is just sublime. Over 18 pages on painting eyes. Printed on thick glossy paper, with loads of SBS, examples and some of Krill's amazing work.

Great looking book Steve. I have that Gladiator bust in the stash.....looking at the one in the book I think it will stay there for a while LOL....
