Scale Model Shop

Caught in the act

The Best cat I NEVER owned was living on the place when we moved in. Left behind by the previous owner. It was strictly an outdoor pet and never came in the house. She (Samantha) had a bed and water bowl down in the shop and she slept on an old Deer hide that was placed on top of the Fridge I store my Gunpowder in. She was a fearsome Huntress and was forever leaving us "Presentations" of what was left of her "kills" on the door mat. Every morning She would come up to the front window where we would sit and look at the view, and she would place both paws on the glass and let go with a most ferocious MEOWWWWWWW !!! That meant I want my Friskies.....before I could get to the back door with a plate of Friskies she would already be there meowing and pacing back and forth impatiently. We lost her to a careless neighbor who without thinking, put out Rat poison and she got hold of one of the dying Rats and it took her also. I buried that lovely creature in the clearing up behind our house and piled rocks on her grave to keep the other "Critters" from digging her up. I happened to be up in the clearing the other day on my 4 wheeler and I stopped by to say "Hello", to the Best Cat I Never Owned. :thumb2:

Rick that's a sad end for her .:disappointed:

Now what about this Gunpowder store , sounds interesting !

Nikko here kept this pose for nearly half an hour eyes transfixed on a baby lizard on the ceiling light. If it falls its dead meat...more of a plaything. Our cats don't eat lizards.

Our old boy was like that. He ate what he was given without complaints.
Mine seem to prefer Aldi and Lidl cat food to that from better-known brands :)

Unfortunately we had to bury him on Xmas day. He had a great life though, and after we moved two years ago had a second wind, loving the garden and terrorising the local rodent population....miss him like mad to be honest. He lived with us for 18 years. We still have our female cat, but she is now approaching sixteen years old and is hyperthyroid so is on daily medication.
Know what you mean … I’ve had these cats for three years, as the previous ones died in June 2017 and January 2018 (who also had thyroid problems that required a pill in her food once per day), both about 18 years old, and though I like the current ones, I’m not entirely sure I wouldn’t trade them in for the previous ones if I could.

I had a big kit delivered last week but the box didn't go to waste as the two hooligans of the house had great delight for the rest of the day here's two action shots IMG_20210208_125243.jpgIMG_20210208_123731.jpg

Great picture Peter! Our rescue cat must have been taken from her parents before she'd learned the rules of cat behaviour, she has zero interest in boxes. She's also frightened of spiders, and especially of carrier bags!
Pete

I was told once that they avoid tap water because they can taste the treatments we put in it. Whatever it is, she prefers rain water collected in anything!

its true.........and using a metal bowl can put them off even more

our last cat was 19 when she died and had kidney problems amongst others, she started to not drink and i read the same as you..........so i used to buy a bottle of 'mountain water' and use that, she loved it

WELL I caught our SNOWBALL in the act of walking around up on my aircraft shelf above the tv an thank goodness she never broke anything but she got a lightly tanned hide grrrr

AN SHE hides her toy mices up under the settee as we kept buyin them for her an they kept dissapearing as she hides them up crazy cat eh

our two.......Jessie is the black fluffy heffalump.............Willow is the tortie, rescue kitty.....someone abandoned her in a house when they moved out, next person in found her, we had her cos she was so scared by it all and feared no one would pick her at the rescue centre......so very different in personalities but they are part of the family

Got to admit that Jessie is a bit of a “porkenstein’s monster”.....mind you, if you asked her she’d probably say it was all fur LOL.....

Jessie reminds me of our Zsar Zsar...she's the old lady of the house and the rest of the motley crew avoid her out of respect as she can give them the evil eye...the left eye that cannot close and is blind. They look perfectly alright when she has the other eye open.

Amazing how patient and quiet they can be - except when they're waiting for you to feed them! Then it's non-stop wailing and fussing around you.

I wasn’t disparaging her Paul, she’s magnificent!

lol. i know

shes a jeckle and hyde................with us shes a cuddle cat, just wants fuss, while the memshaib has been ill Jessie has hardly left her side, i even called her a 'bed buddy'.......................................but she stalks the postman, bit the delivery man when he put something through the letter box, is well known at the vets for 'swearing a lot' and being aggressive if they get too close lol, grand kids wont go near her, eldest calls her evil......and shes the one with Jessies mother, who also has an 'attitude problem' lol.....must have inherited it
