Hi,
I was doing some work in the garden when this bird looked me right in the eyes, it relied on it's 3-tone camouflage and kept still holding it's breath.
Does anyone recognizes the species?

Thanks & have a nice day

Thanks John, I think you're right :thumb2:
I forgot the females have a more brownish color, hope she will do fine.
They are quite strong/stubborn birds so I think she won't be leaving soon.

Thanks & kind regards
Steven

Beware that the young will be crawling around the ground at some point soon, before it can fly. It will leave the nest without even a full coat of feathers and scurry around for another couple of weeks while the parents bring it food. I found this out a few years ago when I noticed my two cats being interested in something between some low plants, and discovered a small bird with only a few feathers on it; I looked it up, and this is normal for blackbirds.

Steven If you just leave her be and ignore her she will happily continue to sit.

We fed our blackbirds with dried meal worms soaked in warm water before putting out, they will love these, and get to know and trust you.

Our Mrs B built one nest, then changed her mind and built another, but it turns out she doesn't like that one either. The female of the species !
