Very convincing Ron.Here's my Bergepanzer III , with a fictional Miniart 3-ton service crane retro-fitted. No idea if this was actually ever done in reality. But hey, why not ? Werkstatt Companies had to be resourceful after all... Still some bolt detail to do and I'll make a couple of ragged Milliput tarps to be strewn about the rear deck & box sides, etc...
Thank You John, wish I'd thought to post it before I primed that box and hoist though. The red oxide chassis was firstly a gun tank that sat on the shelf of shame quite a while.Very convincing Ron.

Thanks John, glad you like him.Very convincing Ron.
Thanks Rick, yeah it seems that theres room for some improvisation with that subject !I have seen makeshift "Berges" on tracked vehicles in my meanderings on the web.......don't recall if they were on the lll or lV chassis though....also seen them on just about any wheeled vehicle you can imagine.
The Krauts were very creative in their efforts to keep the war machines moving.
Cheers, Rick H.
Cheers Andrew !Looking very good indeed.
Andrew
Paul, hmmm! Adding some teeth to one of those sounds like a tasty endeavor. I'd thought of adding a big recovery spade at the back of mine. But the stash kit I would have nicked it from (Berge-Hetzer)was already missing that sprue sadly.Have seen pics of a couple BergeIIIs. One w/2cm auto cannon in superstructure. Both seemed to be equipped as tow vehicles.
Something green? Don't go "Russian" into any big decisions!?
What next , that is the question.
Those aluminum slots sure bring back some memories lolNot so much what's on it, but where it is.
I've been using the spare room but people keep visiting so I tidied up a corner of the barn.....
Sorted. No wifi but an old Bush radio to keep me company.
edit And a set of Wolfrace for my Hilux.
Those aluminum slots sure bring back some memories lol
I see that they're 6-lug, are they for a truck ?
NICE !!! I love that stake bed too. Well yours sure looks better than the one that was on Top Gear lol !
