Scale Model Shop

Spots on the Internet (2021)

The dirty IPA used to clean the finished resin print is classified as toxic waste ( like used motor oil ), and has to be disposed of at an appropriate site ( bet a lot of people just pour it down a drain ).

If you follow any of the 3d printing groups on facebook ( only reason I have facebook ( and model making ) you will see that the majority of people know how to dispose of the used cleansing fluids ( water / mean green / ipa ) and are very quick to point that out to new users.
There are a growing number of model makers releasing their stl files, free of charge, for personal use, and I have been collecting some of them, hoping to buy a 3d printer soon.

There are a few good channels on youtube for sensible information on general printing and the best way to get the best use out of the machines.

got my eyes on a mars3 or saturn.

If I spent all that time making 3-D models, I certainly wouldn't sell the computer files! I'd go into 3D printing for myself. Selling files just invites copying & multiple prints. Selling the individual single parts makes more sense. ( If I was interested in going to business, that is ). In a sense I'm glad I retired from the 3D designing business, it was becoming difficult to keep up to date ( more training = less time actually doing real work! )

Just wondering how many go through that rigmarole rather than just pouring it down the loo?

I can see it now….lazy printer takes the waste to the smallest room to dispose of it and thinks he might as well make the journey worthwhile. When he finishes he drops his dog end down the pan before flushing. There is a gentle “woof” noise as the IPA ignites, followed closely by the acrid smell of scorched hair….nurse…..nurse……
