This is the first kit that I have brought new and knowing me is going to be a quick build or a painfully long one but on opening the box it looks like it its going to be a nice build even the instructions are better than anything I have have seen. Hi peter
You definitely have my attention. I'm building an HMS Victory Cross Section and it is taking a very long time. This is a whole ship so I'm guessing a great deal of time and work.

Frames and keel constructed and that's the easy part. IMG_20211005_144602.jpgAnd started planking and staining the decks. IMG_20211005_172345.jpgIMG_20211005_175811.jpg

Hi Peter
I suppose the critical point with the keel and the frames is keeping everything square. As the rest is built up on that section errors now will cause problems later. Deck looks nice stained.

I am lucky with this kit as its so well made I had no issues as every frame fitted like a glove.

I have done a size comparison with airfix 1/72 hind so at 1/85 it should be smaller so someone has got their measurements wrong IMG_20211008_090234.jpg

MANY THANKS Peter for answering my questions :thumb2: an looking forward to seeing this through to completion

That scale issue is odd :rolling: I wonder who has got it wrong - Airfix or OcCre?

According to Wikipedia the deck length was 31m.

Although I've not actually been on it, more than once I've had coffee opposite the replica that's in a dry dock off the Thames. The thought of circumnavigating the globe in something that small is mind-blowing not to mention terrifying....
