56! You're a mere stripling Sirrah - all you've done now is cast my mind back to the halcyon days when I called myself sub-60 ( some 17 years ago if my fading senses recollect properly) however, you have re-ignited a memory of the arrival of a rather beautiful brunette haired lady who is slightly younger than you but still graces my company with her marital presence!

My maths, or mental faculty. is s..t - Kate is only 52 and I( unfortunately) carry a score on her - bring on Rachel Riley! (Purely for the academic content of this lurid thread!)

Andy, never seen or heard of the Defiant before (not so much of a wingy-thing guy) but yeah I like it too. Kind of reminds me a bit of a Sturmovich (sp.?)
I'll have look up that pack of hippies on youtube lol
Just gave the song Devil's Answer a listed, glad I did ! Plus, there"s a "US Version" on Youtube, presumably for those of us here who don't speak British

So nice of the stash god's.....I too Have been visited by them on more than one occasion..... It's amazing how they know EXACTLY what I want!! ;) :smiling5:

On all seriousness nice all. Not heard of the band well have to look them up.

Interesting purchases Andy. The defiant is an interesting bird. If it could have had guns at the front it would have been more effective in 1940. It could outfight a spitfire in a turning combat. Not because it could turn faster, but because it could fire across the arc……trouble was, a head on attack was indefensible :cold-sweat:
Interesting music choice. You must have been about five when Atomic Rooster were in the charts……a second division band that had quite a few interesting alumni over the years……

The Il-2 was a ground-attack aircraft that needed a rear machine gun for self-defence. In the Defiant, the turret carried its offensive armament — the idea being that it could shoot down enemy planes in all directions rather than only to the front. Reality showed that a similar-size plane with the guns pointing to the front but carrying much less weight (that is, turret plus gunner) normally won in aerial combat.

Hey Ron!
Yes,those Defiants certainly do have that "Certain something" about them don`t they:thumb2:,
Another of my favourite tracks on that Album is "Play it again".....give it a blast mate!

A`noon Tim,
Yes,i agree about the Defiant`s weakness, however, when they were pulled back and put into a nightfighter role,(Which is the livery i intend to do it in),they did much better apparently:thumb2:,
You`re also spot on about me being 5ish when Atomic Rooster were "Big",but, thanks to the late, great Tommy Vance and his Friday night Rock show on Radio 1,(the only game in town reallyfor listening to Rock/metal on the airwaves back in the day),i was introduced to them in about `79/80:cool:

As i was on a bit of a nostalga trip last week and looking to try different types of kits,i saw and per chased this, which arrived today...........
tri.jpg
This is the first car i can remember, when i was between the ages of about 5 to 10 my Dad had a fascination with these things,i think he must`ve had at least 4,one after the other,of varying styles.I do remember that most of them were Red,Red/white,and at least two had these white bumpers, which left a white smear across your trousers if you rubbed against them!! (That caused a cuffed ear or two from mum!!:tears-of-joy::tears-of-joy:).
I can also remember the smell of the seats in the cold, dark evenings, and the thick, black "Carpet" covering the gearbox tunnel between driver/passenger seat.... i can also......
............ ok,ok STOP ANDY !!:tired:
Suffice to say,it`s a kit i`m really pleased to have, and i shall be giving it a go Drekly:thumb2:.
Apologies for the self indulgence!!

That kit is probably older than the real ones your dad drove Andy…..and I remember TV on the radio as well……the show was wrecked when the NWOBHM came along…..

Lol, have to say, from the band's pic, I expected some sort of low-key psychodelic dirge (sp?) music. Which I listen to in small
doses occasionally. But Yeah, quite enjoyable and to.my surprise some brass in there too, I like them !
PS just heard Play It Agsin -and- Play The Game , each different loved them both. Always did like early Prog Rock, I'm glad I was curious enough to look into them , Thanks Andy !

Stash Gods???????? Not around here I'm afraid. It's my damn finger on the 'Bid' or 'Buy Me' button that does the nasty!!!........

Saw this and thought it would be a really big hit at family BBQs or at campfires all over. With a stupid bid of €21,07, I won it, even though I really didn't want to.....

IMG_2705.JPG

It is kinda cute in an odd way and has a complete interior including motor too. The downside, it's a tiny little thang............

Prost
